Star Wars Chess
2
Attachment Star Wars Chess is noted for having unexpectedly violent and cartoonish death animations, similar to the Battle Chess series, almost (but not) all of which actually show the characters dying as opposed to simply being incapacitated - there is an animation for every Rebel killing every Empire member and vice versa, which leads to somewhat humourous and non-canonically feasible situations such as R2D2 snatching Darth Vader's lightsaber and singlehandedly killing him with it.

Super Donkey
2
While Super Donkey is thought to have ultimately evolved into Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, the project was likely tossed around as a Mario or Zelda game at various points in development.

Various development assets associated with Super Donkey, which were uncovered alongside the prototype in the 2020 Gigaleak, include sprites and animations for Link, Mario, and Donkey Kong; the animation files for Link are dated to fall 1990, while Mario's animation files are dated to winter of that year. Additional files for all three characters span overlapping periods in 1991. Link's sprites and animations indicate that Super Donkey was at one point planned to be a side-scrolling Zelda title similar to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, while Mario's animations imply that the iteration that starred him and Donkey Kong eventually morphed into the 1994 Game Boy title Donkey Kong.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
subdirectory_arrow_right Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (Game)
1
Attachment Donkey Kong's sprite on 75M in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has a tan skin tone, which is different from DK's paler sprite in either the NES or arcade versions of Donkey Kong. This appears to be the result of Nintendo using an image of the game's arcade version originating from a Japanese retro gaming fan site called Muu-World as reference material, as that image seems to have a color error that makes DK appear tan. The English-language fan wiki Super Mario Wiki has been hosting a different Donkey Kong screenshot with the same error on its page for the game since 2005, and the source of the error as well as several of the images featuring it (including the Mario Wiki screenshot) is currently unknown. It also gives DK a coincidental resemblance to the appearance on the box art for NES Donkey Kong and in-game in Atarisoft's Commodore 64 Donkey Kong. This was fixed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Zoo Tycoon
1
Attachment Predating Zoo Tycoon: Dinosaur Digs, the Triceratops is notably the first ever prehistoric creature included in the Zoo Tycoon series as a hidden unlockable within the first base game. Players could unlock it as an adoptable animal by completing the "Breeding the Panda" scenario, but it could also be unlocked earlier by renaming an exhibit to "Cretaceous Corral".

Notably, with the installation of the aforementioned Dinosaur Digs expansion pack, the Triceratops' sprite is modified to be much smaller in size and duller in color; it also now functions like the other dinosaurs, such as now requiring to be hatched out of an egg and be taken care of by a scientist (as opposed to a zookeeper), and will break out of all fences from the base Zoo Tycoon game.

Fate/Grand Order
1
The Chinese Version of Fate/Grand Order, published by video sharing website bilibili, features several changes and censored elements compared to the original Japanese release. These were all likely done as to comply with Chinese law. Some examples of changes are as follows:

• Boudica: Attire altered to reduce cleavage and panties were changed into shorts. She and Mata Hari also temporarily had their portrait artwork removed before being put back in place
• Shuten-Doji: Ascensions were altered to reduce visible skin throughout.
• Mata Hari: Bikini top was made larger to reduce cleavage. She and Boudica also temporarily had their portrait artwork removed before being put back in place
• Cú Chulainn: Second Ascension was altered to cover his chest.
• Minamoto-no-Raikou: The cloth covering her breasts in her first ascension is retained in her second and third.
• Hassan of the Cursed Arm: Second Ascension adds a cloth obscuring his face and chest.
• Yu-Mei-Ren (Assassin): Name was temporarily changed to Assassin 230, then later 雏罂. Reduced the size of her cleavage window and added fabric to hide skin showing in her second and third ascensions. Her bust size is also notably smaller in the Chinese version.
• Yu-Mei-Ren (Lancer): Swimsuit was adjusted to be less revealing.
• Gorgon: Attire adjusted to cover chest more.
• Wu Zetian (Assassin): Name was temporarily changed to Assassin 170, then later 周照. All appearances of the character were scrubbed, as well as any mentions of her by name, replacing her with the default Assassin Card. Spoiler:This affects the story of Agartha as she is the true identity of Assassin of the Nightless City, one of the story's antagonist. Was later given fabric covering her stomach on her second, third, and final ascensions.
• Xuanzang Sanzang: Cleavage is covered. Artwork was temporarily disabled until adjusted artwork was provided. Was renamed "Pilgrim To The West" (西行者) to comply with Chinese depiction laws.
• Yang Guifei: Second ascension adds frills to her attire's lower body, while her third and final cover up her chest. She also had some of her ascensions disabled until new artwork was added.
• Orion (Artemis): Removed cleavage from first ascension artwork and icon.
• Carmilla (Assassin): Added clothing to areas otherwise not covered in the original version.
• Ushiwakamaru: Was given skintight clothing covering her torso. Coincidentally, this resembles her design in Melty Blood: Type Lumina, which was also censored in a similar fashion.
• Tamamo Cat: Reduced cleavage and bust size.
• Fergus Mac Róich: Added bandages covering his chest.
• Phantom of the Opera: Blood was removed from his second ascension's knives.
• Giles De Rais (Saber): Blood stain removed from his second ascension.
• Scáthach (Lancer): Skin Tight suit made less see through.
• Darius III: Body paint was removed and his expression was changed to be less angry.

In addtion, several other Chinese-originating Servants had their names changed to their Class, followed by their Servant ID. Other Servants also had their names changed. Jack The Ripper, for example, was changed to "Abandoned Son of the Mist." Similar changes were also made to various Craft Essences, similarly removing revealing clothing and references to blood.

Snowboard Kids 2
1
Attachment The main antagonist Damien attempts to cause trouble for the Snowboard Kids throughout the game after his entrance and declaration to conquer Snow Town are completely ignored. Following along with this, a sprite animation of Damien yelling can be found hiding in the sidelines of seven of the game's courses. Damien's irrelevancy is joked at further in the game's manual, where the first six pages after the Table of Contents appear to show him "crash-landing" into the manual and observing some of the instructions and story events from the top-left corner before entering the story himself, as well as the background image of these pages (and also the very last two pages of the manual) being a close-up shot of Damien hopelessly yelling for attention.

The Simpsons: Bart vs. The Space Mutants
1
Attachment The Genesis version of Bart vs. The Space Mutants has two revisions. The second revision primarily fixes up graphics that were drawn in a realistic art style instead of that of Matt Groening, as well as some strange coloring errors such as a red-dressed Marge and an Itchy & Scratchy that appear to be in the colors of the characters they're intended to parody, Tom and Jerry.
Disney's Animated Storybook: Toy Story
subdirectory_arrow_right Toy Story Activity Center (Game), Toy Story (Franchise), Disney's Animated Storybook (Collection), Pixar (Collection)
2
Disney's Animated Storybook: Toy Story and Toy Story Activity Center were developed by a devision of Pixar known as the Interactive Products Group, which exclusively made video game content. The division was closed down when the Toy Story 2 movie entered production, and merged into Pixar's main movie animation staff, as the animators behind the first film were working on A Bug's Life and the IPG had already proved itself by making as many frames of animation for their games as there was in the first Toy Story, with a near-identical quality. Due to the shuttering of the IPG, later Pixar PC games using pre-rendered graphics, such as A Bug's Life Activity Center and Monsters, Inc. Scream Team Training, would have significantly lower quality animation than the movies, and Toy Story would be the only Pixar film to have an Animated Storybook based on it.
Alien Soldier
1
Treasure president Masato Maegawa and Alien Soldier director Hideyuki Suganami had big ideas in mind for the potential of the game's bosses, with two ideas being thrown around to add a boss with 100 or even 1000 transformations, or a boss with 100 moving/multi-jointed parts. Neither of these ideas were added due to time constraints, but Maegawa still took pride in this early idea for motivating them to further develop the multi-jointed sprite animations in the final game.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
1
Attachment In Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, the relics only appear as 2D images. However, complete 3D models can be found for all of them inside the game, including three variants of the N. Sanely Perfect relic that seem to be tiered (one being a skull, another being a skull with crossbones, and the last being a skull with crossbones; wings; horns; and a more menacing face which is closer to the final N. Sanely Perfect Relic aside from the wings), all with their own animations.
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

Unused victory sprites of Mario and Luigi facing the camera in each power-up form that the game has to offer can be found in the game's data.

Flappy Bird
subdirectory_arrow_right Flappy Birds Family (Game), .GEARS Studios (Company)
2
Flappy Bird was removed from app stores by creator Dong Nguyen on February 8th 2014, due to being overwhelmed by its success and feeling guilt over the addictive, frustrating nature of the game, which he had originally intended to be relaxing. Although many speculated that the game was taken down by Nintendo due to the game's pipes and their similarity to the pipes from the Mario series, both Nguyen and Nintendo denied this.

Nguyen claimed that his worries about the game had lost him sleep, and removing the game from sale managed to restore piece of mind - despite this, Nguyen did promise a Flappy Bird comeback, albeit in a less addictive form, which would eventually come in the form of an official sequel: Flappy Birds Family for Amazon Fire TV.

Some eBay users attempted to sell the iPhones with the original game installed for up to $99,900, but the listings were removed due to eBay's rules against selling technology that has not been factory reset.

Spot: The Video Game
1
Attachment The Japanese localisation of Spot: The Video Game changes sprites of the NES and its controller into a Famicom - unusually, the Famicom has a golden color palette as if it had yellowed from overuse. Due to the image of a circuit board on the settings screen sharing a palette, this results in the circuit board also appearing yellowed. This also gives it an unintentional resemblance to the Shonen Jump 50th Anniversary Famicom Mini, released 26 years after Spot released in Japan.
Batman: The Video Game
1
Attachment Sunsoft's NES Batman originally had cutscenes using the comic book iteration of Batman, but these had to be scrapped and replaced with digitized renditions of Micheal Keaton's live-action Batman as the game's artist was not aware that the Batman comics and movies were separate licenses. The Joker, however, was always depicted as Jack Nicholson's portrayal, even in prototypes using the comic version of Batman.

Donkey Kong
1
Attachment The Famicom Disk System version of Donkey Kong adds an extra pixel to the copyright symbol, making it resemble a tilted C instead of a halved C.
Star Fox Command
1
Attachment Unusued icons found within Star Fox Command curiously show ROB 64 with the original Great Fox as it appeared in previous installments such as Star Fox 64 and Star Fox: Assault. This is odd, because the Great Fox was already shown to be completely destroyed in the climax for the previous game, Star Fox: Assault, which is why it was replaced with a small space carrier in the final version of Command.

This indicates that this was either merely a placeholder, or at some point, the development team had considered bringing the original Great Fox model back as it was prior to Assault's ending.
Freddi Fish and The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds
subdirectory_arrow_right Humongous Entertainment (Company)
2
Attachment The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds was the first Humongous Entertainment game to use cel animation instead of computer-designed sprites. This was a last second choice that required all existing visuals and much of the game's code to be thrown away, and was done without a delay nor much in the way of cel animation knowledge from the team, requiring unpaid overtime. Despite this story's surface-level similarities to crunch practices, the challenge of remaking the game on such short notice was chosen and consented to by the Freddi Fish team, and developers of the game have reminisced on this period fondly.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass

1
As a throwback to the original Mario Kart Wii version, if the player falls off the Wii Rainbow Road stage, the character and kart will burn as they briefly enter the Earth’s atmosphere before Lakitu rescues them.

This marks the only stage in the entire game (including the original Mario Kart 8) that has this property.
