Jingle Brawl
3
In Super Fall Brawl, one of the many reskins of Jingle Brawl, the new character was intended to be Sheen Estevez from Jimmy Neutron, in promotion for his then-new spin-off series Planet Sheen. However, Sheen was not coded correctly, making him near-impossible to beat in a fight. The game's second update would remove Sheen and his stage completely, and he would never be added back in, making Fall Brawl the only Super Brawl game without any new combatants. Sheen would return in Super Brawl 2, though the House of Pain stage, based on the first episode of Planet Sheen, would be swapped for a Zeenu stage generally based on Planet Sheen instead of a single episode.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
1
All of the competitive stages in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are - with one exception - inspired by stages from the Super Smash Bros. series:

•Jellyfish Fields, from SpongeBob SquarePants, is based on Smashville, introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

•Harmonic Convergence, from The Legend of Korra, and the post-update version of Royal Woods Cemetery, from The Loud House, are based on Final Destination, introduced to the multiplayer stage lineup in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

•Sweet Dreams, from Garfield, is based on the frozen version of Super Smash Bros. Melee's Pokémon Stadium, introduced officially in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but popularized by fan projects such as the Super Smash Bros. Brawl mod Project M prior.

•Irken Armada Invasion, from Invader Zim, is based on Battlefield, introduced to the multiplayer stage lineup in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

•Rooftop Rumble and Sewers Slam, both from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, are based on the hazards-off version of Smashville introduced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with Sewers Slam - originally intended as a casual stage but adopted into the competitive stage lineup - containing a goop hazard somewhat resembling the wind from Smash 64's Dream Land.

•Duck, Duck, Pie!, based on The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is based on the hazards-off version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U's Kalos Pokémon League, introduced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The exception to this pattern is Tremorton Joyride from My Life as a Teenage Robot, which is based loosely on Delfino's Secret from the Super Smash Bros. Brawl mod Project M.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
1
Attachment Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was intended to launch with a deluxe edition that would contain extra alternate costumes, much like the deluxe edition made for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 - this never came to be due to the alternate costumes not being finished in time for launch, with the game eventually receiving a free update to add one costume per character.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
1
Attachment Upon the release of Rilla Roo as a DLC character in Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, the model of the character was heavily criticized for how far it strayed from his original model in Crash Bash, particularly the presence of a large beard and chin on his face, with many fans editing mockups of a more faithful Rilla Roo. In the game's final DLC update, a "fixed" version of Rilla Roo would be provided - however, rather than serving as a skin for, or replacing the original, Rilla Roo, this new Rilla Roo would be made a separate character titled "Fixed Rilla Roo", with his own animations and exotic skins. His victory podium animation has him stop to check his face, and then sigh in relief as a meta-joke.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
1
In the launch version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Marth and his clone characters were unable to dash-grab R.O.B. while he was in shield. This would eventually be fixed in Version 3.0.0, which increased the vertical range of these characters' dash-grabs.

Angry Birds Seasons
2
Attachment Matilda from Angry Birds was originally designed as an unnamed male bird, but was changed to female when higher ups at Rovio realized that male birds do not lay eggs. The Valentine's Day season of Angry Birds Seasons gave Matilda a girlfriend, which, after the change, retroactively gave the unintended implication of Matilda being a lesbian, despite actually being straight and later marrying Terence in the film series. When Matilda was redesigned for the 2013 animated webseries Angry Birds Toons, she would gain the pink cheeks of her former girlfriend. Angry Birds Seasons was removed from app stores in 2019, completing the retcon of the girlfriend character. Despite this, the Angry Birds franchise would introduce LGBTQ+ side characters and support LGBTQ+ fan works in later years.

Metroid Prime
1
When you are locked onto a target in Metroid Prime, pressing the jump button does a sideways dash. This lets the player easily strafe around a target and dodge incoming fire. This sideways strafe jump sets a horizontal velocity on the player that continues to circle around the target while locked on, but if you unlock the target just as the strafe jump starts, Samus keeps the horizontal momentum without the lock-on pull. This trick, which the game's speedrunning community called the Scan Dash, allows for a larger horizontal distance traversal than a normal jump. Using this momentum can let Samus catch the edge of the cliff beside her ship in the Landing Site and get the Space Jump Boots early upon landing.

According to programmer Zoid Kirsch, creative use of the game physics and movement that results in acquiring items out of order allows for creative exploration of the game world. While sequence breaks like this are a crucial part of the Metroid series, this trick would actually be patched out in later releases of the game.

Crash Team Racing
1
Attachment On the character designer for Nitros Oxide in Crash Team Racing, Bob Rafei's website, he has a portfolio containing various works sorted by game. In the Crash Team Racing folder of the site, there is an image of a blue hippo in an aviator suit named "trippo.jpg". According to Rafei in 2017, this character was designed as a mascot for an airline search engine during the dot-com boom, but was placed in the CTR folder of the site by mistake. However, in the time between the image's discovery and the clarification, the image was spread online as if it was a lost Crash Bandicoot character, gaining the accepted name of "Fasty" through unknown means.

In Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, the character Hasty the Moose, one of two completely original characters alongside King Chicken, was inspired by the myth of "Fasty", with a similar body build; face; outfit; and name in both meaning and spelling.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Shortly after Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's launch, the PC version of the game suffered a mysterious anomaly on its online modes informally known as the "items virus", where unfinished placeholder items would show up on the casual quickplay online mode, and then appear in offline modes with no way of turning them off except for restarting the game, all the while spreading the items to anyone you play with online.

Annalynn
2
As of version 1.3, after inputting a secret code on the Practice Mode select screen, "Mike%" is activated, which adds a timer to the game which stops once Mike is defeated. This is presumably a nod to the Mike% speedrunning category found on Speedrun.com.

If this code is active while playing the game's final level, Mike is found sleeping in the corner of the boss room.

Attachment In 2011, Moshi Monsters creator Mind Candy was sued by Lady Gaga over a Moshling (pet) featured in the game, a pop star baby named Lady Goo Goo, which they planned to release a song sung by on iTunes, titled "The Moshi Dance". The song was banned from being released on iTunes, but Lady Goo Goo was permitted to continue appearing in the game. However, Lady Goo Goo would still be replaced with a new pop star/infant-themed Moshling named Baby Rox.
