Five Nights at Freddy's Plus
1
Original names suggested for the game were Five Nights at Freddy's 1.5, Five Nights at Freddy's REC and Five Nights at Freddy's RED, before eventually deciding on the final name Five Nights at Freddy's Plus.
Collection: Undertale
2
Attachment In 2019, a YouTube user by the name of MickeySerbia posted a now-deleted video showing that Sans' voice grunting was most likely sourced from a snippet of Patrick Star saying "maybe it's the way you're dressed" in the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Something Smells"; specifically, the grunt comes from the "ay" in "maybe." This information was further popularized when the SoundCloud account UNDERTALE OST: Recreated made and published the same discovery later that year, independent of MickeySerbia. While Toby Fox did not comment on the discovery, waveform comparisons between the SoundCloud post and Sans' voice grunting shows that the two are nearly identical apart from a slight delay in the former.

Jolly
subdirectory_arrow_right Fazbear Fanverse Initiative (Franchise)
2
Attachment According to Kane Carter (creator of the POPGOES series of fangames), Scott Cawthon had contacted IvanG about possibly allowing the Jolly series to become part of the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative, unaware that the series was based on the real-life Filipino fast food chain Jollibee. Before accepting Scott's invitation, IvanG posted a picture on his Twitter of Jolly with a PlayStation 4 controller. This alerted the other Fanverse devs, who promptly told Scott about both the copyrighted material in Jolly and the fact that Ivan was teasing the Fanverse, ultimately leading the series to be dropped from the project.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars
1
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars was written using HTML and Javascript, meaning that the game can be run in a web browser with minor tweaks to the code.
Aftonbuilt
subdirectory_arrow_right Fazbear Fanverse Initiative (Franchise)
1
Aftonbuilt was created as a pitch to Scott Cawthon for an original game made for the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative, but it was declined. The game's existence, as well as a demo, were first revealed on April 22, 2022.
Drawn to Life
1
Attachment Originally, instead of being fox-like creatures known the Raposa, Drawn to Life's NPCs were supposed to be dog-like creatures titled Droogles. Instead of the snow, forest, beach, and city/castle worlds from the final game, the worlds were going to be a medieval world, military world, skating world, and ninja world.

Mario Teaches Typing
2
The voice script for Mario Teaches Typing contained multiple negative remarks towards the player such as "That wasn't very good" and "That was a failure". Voice actor Charles Martinet objected to these remarks, and was given permission to write his own, more supportive lines such as "That was great, but you can do even better!" and "Great try!"

Sqij!
1
The ZX Spectrum version of Sqij was made using Ocean Software's Laser BASIC coding software, and contains significant chunks of the library in its code, which could be easily reverse engineered, allowing one access to the suite of Laser BASIC tools for the £1.99 price of Sqij as opposed to the £14.95 asking price of Laser BASIC.
Pokémon Emerald Version
3
Because the developers were still experimenting with Double Battles where the player teams up with an NPC ally to fight two NPC opponents, this lead to a glaring oversight during the battle where the player joins with Steven Stone to battle Maxi and Tabitha where, during the battle, Steven's Level 42 Metang can actually gain a substantial amount of EXP simultaneously with the player's own Pokémon. This essentially means that, with careful manipulation, the player can have the ally Metang get enough EXP to grow to Level 43. This so far is the only instance in the entire Pokémon main series where, in a non-scripted battle, an NPC's Pokémon can gain EXP and level up.
Sonic Mars
2
Sonic Mars was a concept game that was cancelled for unknown reasons (though it likely had something to do with the limitations and ultimate failure of the Sega 32X), before eventually being reworked into what eventually became Sonic X-treme.

In 2007, two different scripts were leaked for the cancelled game. The first, written by Michael Kosaka, focused on the 3D graphics and notably included elements from the 1993 Sonic the Hedgehog television series (referred to by fans as "Sonic SatAM"), which was airing at the time. The second, written by Don Goddard, focused more on how the game combined 3D graphics with 2D sprites, and dropped the SatAM elements.

Eek! The Cat
1
Attachment Eek! the Cat has been noted for having an unusually dark color palette that makes the graphics hard to read. This is not the result of a faulty brightness register, but simply how the game's palettes are stored in the code. Marketing materials for the game show screenshots that are much brighter in palette and closer to both the game's original form as Sleepwalker and its cartoon source material, meaning that the palette error was likely a mistake made late in the game's development.

Bubsy 2
subdirectory_arrow_right Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tales (Game), Bubsy (Collection)
1
There is a rumor that claims that Rob Paulsen, the voice actor who provided the voice for Bubsy in Bubsy 2, Bubsy in: Fractured Furry Tales, and the 1993 Bubsy cartoon pilot hated the character and regretted taking the gig. However, Paulsen has stated that he does not regret his role in the Bubsy franchise and would do the voice again for future Bubsy projects if paid to.
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
1
Attachment Stranger was originally intended to have a type of live ammo from critters known as Surge Bugs, but they were dropped for unknown reasons.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
subdirectory_arrow_right Super Smash Bros. (Franchise)
2
There are 17 stages in the Super Smash Bros. series that (intentionally) contain the full title of a video game in their English name: Balloon Fight, Duck Hunt, Find Mii, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Bros., Minecraft World, Pac-Land, Paper Mario, Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, Super Mario Maker, Tomodachi Life, Wii Fit Studio, Wrecking Crew, both stages titled Yoshi's Island, and Yoshi's Story.

Additionally there are Miiverse and the Pictochat stages but their source material’s status as "video games" are debatable.
Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx
1
Attachment Thomas Astruc, the creator of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, was involved in the game's production, having drawn the original design for Chloé's new akumatized form, Clonika (originally known as "RepliQueen").
Spore Creature Keeper
1
Spore Creature Keeper was a spin-off game meant to make use of creatures made in its parent game, Spore and it was supposed to release on PC and DS. The gameplay was akin to Nintendogs where the player would pick a pet from the Sporepedia (encyclopedia of Spore creatures both Maxis made and player made) and raise them as a pet. The only footage of this game is a trailer and a few other snippets of gameplay. This game was ultimately canceled despite appearing to be a finished product, even having a EULA which can still be found online.

According to developer George Fergan, there was a debate within the team on who should be the villain of the LCD handheld games: some wanted to use Mr. Crumb, while others wanted to use Mr. Crool. In the end, they decided to use both for different versions, with Mr. Crumb being used in the more powerful Tiger 99x version and Mr. Crool being used in the cheap LCD version.
Kid Klown in Night Mayor World
2
Attachment Kid Klown in Night Mayor World was originally released in Japan as Mickey Mouse III: Yume Fuusen. However, because Capcom held exclusive rights to release games based on Disney properties outside of Japan, Kemco substantially retooled the game for its international localization, replacing the myriad of Disney characters with an original cast and remaking the title screen and cutscenes from scratch.
