The audio used for Bob-ombs, Monty Moles and Goombas in various games starting with Super Mario 64 is actually pieces of Mario's voice saying "Here We Go" after being pitch-shifted.

Bayonetta
3
Attachment During any cutscene where Bayonetta has a lollipop, if you hold down a specific button before the candy head of the lollipop first appears, you will gain the effect of a specific lollipop item available in the game's stores, and this is reflected in the cutscene by changing which lollipop flavor is shown:

• A for Green Herb lollipop (recover health)
• B for Bloody Rose lollipop (temporary damage boost)
• X for Purple Butterfly lollipop (recover magic)
• Y for Yellow Moon lollipop (gain armor)

It is pertinent that you press and hold the desired button before the candy part of the lollipop is actually seen in the cutscene to ensure the trick works. For example, in Chapter IV: The Cardinal Virtue of Fortitude, when Bayonetta walks into the colosseum, you can see that she is holding a lollipop, but you can only see the stick at first, meaning there's still time to perform the trick. If performed correctly, the lollipop head will be revealed as the one you have chosen. You can also skip the cutscene while still holding the button in order to keep the effect. Unlike normally using a lollipop item, performing this trick does not remove points from your score in a chapter.

Going off of the colors of each lollipop that are used for each face button, they match up with the Xbox 360 controller's color scheme, possibly being a remnant of Platinum Games primarily developing Bayonetta for the Xbox 360. This feature would not be carried over into subsequent Bayonetta games.

Attachment Dr. Claw's face, a recurring mystery in the Inspector Gadget cartoon, is shown in the Inspector Gadget SNES game. The design of his face, which possesses spiky grey hair, matches up with an action figure released prior, which used a mystery box gimmick for his face. It does not, however, match up with Inspector Gadget character designer Bruno Bianchi's take on the character released in a French magazine contest, where he is instead portrayed as a frog-like alien controlling fake human hands from his chair.

Cookie's Bustle
3
In 2023, an unknown person by the name of Brandon White bought the UK rights to Cookie's Bustle under the fake company name of "Graceware" and began filing DMCA takedowns against any website or video with documentation of the game, in some cases fraudulently using the name of Nintendo, believed to be in an act of copyright trolling. This led to an uptick in interest in the game, with many content creators streaming, making fan works based on, and reviewing the game in retaliation.
Pokémon Emerald Version
3
Because the developers were still experimenting with Double Battles where the player teams up with an NPC ally to fight two NPC opponents, this lead to a glaring oversight during the battle where the player joins with Steven Stone to battle Maxi and Tabitha where, during the battle, Steven's Level 42 Metang can actually gain a substantial amount of EXP simultaneously with the player's own Pokémon. This essentially means that, with careful manipulation, the player can have the ally Metang get enough EXP to grow to Level 43. This so far is the only instance in the entire Pokémon main series where, in a non-scripted battle, an NPC's Pokémon can gain EXP and level up.
Pizza Tower

If the player idles on the main menu for about 40 seconds without inputting anything, Peppino will eventually jumpscare them, causing the game to close itself.

The characters of Captain Falcon, Pichu, Ganondorf, Peach, Jigglypuff, Link, Samus, and Donkey Kong actually have two taunts; one for each direction they are facing (right or left). However, some characters like Donkey Kong, Samus, and Ganondorf have taunts that look identical but actually have very subtle differences that are hard to spot at first glance.

Attachment In all versions of the game there is a secret passage in Cafe HOWDY!/Pub Lali-Ho in the Dwarven Castle of the Underworld that leads to a place called the "Developer's Room". In it are recolored sprites that are meant to be the developers of the game. In the DS release, it has the developers of the DS remake instead. This area was cut in "Final Fantasy 4 Easy-Type" and "Final Fantasy 2 (US)" because it's possible to find a pornographic magazine in the room, called Lustful Lali-Ho.

Attachment In the Ghost Square section of the Gold Saucer there is a pumpkin with green eyes in the corner of the room to the left of reception at the inn. Interacting with this pumpkin will cause it to laugh. This laugh is in fact a slightly slower version of the iconic laugh of Kefka Palazzo, the villain from Final Fantasy VI.

Attachment If you insert the PlayStation or PC versions of the game into a CD player, or play the Sega Saturn version's disc in the console's music player, you can access a hidden song on track 6 titled "Motty's Rap". The song consists of humorous phrases recorded by longtime FIFA commentator John Motson that mostly comment on the song's techno/rock instrumental with some mild innuendos, including: "That is the fattest bottom end I've ever heard" and "This reminds me of touring with the Sex Pistols". The song was the work of EA composer/audio designer Robert Bailey, who got Motson to record lines for the song during his time in the recording booth. In a 2024 interview, Bailey stated that the song was one of many obscure Easter eggs involving Motson's dialogue that the developers put together, with "Motty's Rap" being pulled from "just all of the stupidest phrases John said" and were put into the context of the music. The song was approved to be put into the game by its executive producer Bruce McMillan.

Attachment Located on the rooftop of Tom's Diner (over at Bradbury & Buran) is a pair of binoculars. If the players uses the binoculars to look up to the left, they'll find graffiti of the Northern cardinal bird that's used in CD Projekt RED's logo. After waiting a few moments, the vision in the binoculars will glitch and shift to show a picture of the game's dev team superimposed over the screen. According to global community director Marcin Momot and senior PR manager Marta Piwońska, this picture was taken at an annual company picnic on CD Projekt RED's 20th anniversary in 2022.

In the Commodore 64 version of the game, there are two known messages written with destroyable blocks that are hidden out-of-bounds in two levels of the game. In Level 1-1, the year "1989", referring to the year the game began development, can be found in the middle of the map. The other message is hidden in Level 1-3, where the letters "DTE" can be found in the middle of a land mass in the bottom-right corner of the map.
Ico
2
Attachment In the area beside The Watermill, there is a tree with a small low-poly representation of a Japanese Rhinoceros Beetle attached to it. This pairs well with a bit of cut content recently found within the game's code for the same area, where Ico could have gained a secret weapon that took the form of an Insect Net.

How these two elements could have come together remains unknown, but it was likely part of a reference to Ico's voice actor, Kazuhiro Shindō, and his prior role as 'Boku' in the first installment of the Boku no Natsuyasumi series.

Boku no Natsuyasumi had an extensive bug-catching and beetle fighting system. These features reappearing in ICO were potentially meant to be an elaborate reference, playing on the idea that Kazuhiro Shindō is once again voicing a young boy, who might refer to himself with the first-person pronoun 'boku', if he were to speak Japanese.

Attachment Frog Fractions 2 was a Kickstarter campaign for a mysterious sequel to the satirical browser game Frog Fractions, where the game would be hidden inside another, unrelated title with no announcement. Backers would only receive codes for the game once Frog Fractions fans managed to discover the game's identity, with many bizarre and highly cryptic clues being given until the game's discovery, unravelling a surreal story about time travelers and alternate universes involving fake websites and files stored on them, as well as physical appearances and merchandise.

Two years after the Kickstarter was funded, the game was discovered within the game Glittermitten Grove. Frog Fractions creator Jim Crawford would later state that he believed the Glittermitten Grove Easter egg to not be Frog Fractions 2, but rather Frog Fractions 3, with the ARG to locate the game being the second installment in the franchise.

Throughout the second part of Lostbelt 6, Avalon La Fae, the player is met with several unskippable dialogue options. Special dialogue options can be unlocked by selecting the following options:

• Section 11-6: Spoiler:"...(Does that mean Altria's and Oberon's eyes are-)"
• Section 12-1: Spoiler:"(Even from so early on...?)"
• Section 13-1: Spoiler:"Come to think of it, you never did tell us about your summoning, Oberon."
• Section 16-5: Spoiler:"...(There's something I should double-check with Oberon...)" Choosing this option also reveals an extended sequence where Oberon reveals he hired Koyanskya to take care of Morgan's reinforcements during the siege of Londinium.
• Section 20-4: Spoiler:"...(But, if I do that...)"
• Section 23-4: Spoiler:"...Maybe it's because she can tell when someone is lying?"
• Section 23-6: Spoiler:"Even though you said it doesn't exist here?"

By selecting these options when prompted, special red dialogue options appear after beating Spoiler:Cernunos and Spoiler:Grimr The Sage declares himself the only Servant summoned from Proper Human History. These red dialogue options reveal that the player figured out Oberon was tricking them into playing along with his scheme, and that he was lying about his motives and goals the entire time.
