MaxPlay Classic Games Volume 1
2
In the PS2 version of MaxPlay Classic Games Volume 1, you can find a full pirated copy of Metroid Fusion in the folder "DELETE_ME". It was likely used to test the compilation's emulator.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
2
The Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has a reputation as one of the hardest installments in the Sonic franchise due to making minimal changes to already-challenging level layouts designed for the Master System's larger aspect ratio on the notoriously small Game Gear screen.

Because Sega prefers to release the Game Gear version of the game on newer hardware, and the original Master System version only being released in the Master System's most successful regions (Europe, Australia, and Brazil), most players are only familiar with the version generally considered inferior.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog
subdirectory_arrow_right Sonic Origins Plus (Game), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Game)
2
The 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has two endings:

• A good ending, played if the player collects all the emeralds, where Sonic and Tails run off together at night, and see a constellation in the shape of their heads in the sky.
• A bad ending, where Sonic runs alone in the night, and sees a constellation in the shape of Tails' head in the sky

Although it has never been confirmed, many fans have speculated that the bad ending is supposed to involve Tails dying at the hands of Dr. Eggman, with some even going as far as to suggest that a large star on the right of Tails' forehead is supposed to represent a gun wound. The @sonic_hedgehog Twitter account has jokingly acknowledged this theory without confirming one way or another if it is true - once in a cross-promotion for The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog and the 8-bit game's addition to Sonic Origins Plus, where it compares both games' inclusion of "a beloved character's possible demise", and in a piece of promotional artwork taking place at a carnival, where Tails gets nausea on an intense ride and his constellation can be seen above him, with the "gun wound" star being placed on his muzzle.

The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland
3
Attachment In the European version of The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland for Game Boy Color, there is a friendly message to hackers:

Hello There Pilgrim...

If you have hacked this ROM, you no doubt are reading
this text. This game is basically a 2 Meg. Game. However,
Nintendo, in their infinite wisdom, has decreed that the
smallest ROM they will produce for the Gameboy Color is
8 Meg. -- Now, what to put in that empty 6 Meg.? So, the
developers of the game decided to put .GIF pictures of
themselves into the game. Why not? Might as well fill the
void with something entertaining. See if you can retrieve
them from this ROM. If you do, you win the prize. Please
call (609) 466-2092 (in New Jersey, USA) if you have been
able to view the two .GIF pictures, located in the rest of
the upper 6 Megs of this ROM. We will have a nice reward
for you...

Good Luck!

The described graphics do indeed exist within the game code. It is unknown who the first person to discover the images were, or if and how they were rewarded. Sadly, Roger W. Amidon has since passed away.

Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen
1
In a February 9, 2023 interview with the game's producer Yutaka Fukaya published on the Siliconera website, he was asked when he began working on the game for its worldwide release? He responded that although him and his team started working on the game around the start of 2022, they had the concept well before then.

Fukaya was also asked how difficult it was to get the new ports ready, if any of the ports were easier to create than the others, and what were the unexpected issues that came up during its development? He responded that while it wasn't significantly more difficult than previous titles, the fact that it was a port from the Wii, "a hardware system that is not like any other", was one of the points that required ingenuity. He also said that while it wasn't exactly a difficulty, the team devoted a lot of time, effort and resources to the game's visuals to raise the quality of the game.
Bombshell Barista: Speed Dating
1
While the Itch.io version of the game was released on schedule, the Steam version was delayed due to Steam erroneously believing the game was made using AI, forcing the devs to prove that the game was made by humans. Unfortunately, Steam's review team rejected the inital appeal due to an error on their part, forcing them to re-apply. The Steam version was finally released on September 29, 2023.

M&M's Minis Madness

M&M's Minis Madness had a one-level demo for personal computers released on the M&M's official website which used a proprietary emulator. It does not feature the opening cutscene.

Jingle Brawl
3
In Super Fall Brawl, one of the many reskins of Jingle Brawl, the new character was intended to be Sheen Estevez from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, in promotion for his then-new spin-off series Planet Sheen. However, Sheen was not coded correctly, making him near-impossible to beat in a fight. The game's second update would remove Sheen and his stage completely, and he would never be added back in, making Fall Brawl the only Super Brawl game without any new combatants. Sheen would return in Super Brawl 2, though the House of Pain stage, based on the first episode of Planet Sheen, would be swapped for a Zeenu stage generally based on Planet Sheen instead of a single episode.
Drill Dozer
1
Attachment The US version of Drill Dozer modifies some of the unlockable generic costumes to reference (or further emphasize existing references to) different Game Freak and Nintendo games:

• A schoolgirl outfit was swapped for an outfit of Leaf from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
• A nurse outfit was given extra details to reference Click Medic.
• A futuristic outfit was replaced with a Pulseman outfit.
• Costumes already based on Mario and Mendel Palace being given extra details from their source material.

Despite references to Click Medic and Pulseman being added in the US version, those games had not received US releases at that point. These changes were reverted for the European version of the game.
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures
2
Attachment The game's international cover art is split into two separate parts, the first part depicting Pac-Man about to hang glide off a cliff, and the second part showing him screaming in fear just moments after jumping off. The North American box art for both the SNES and Genesis versions of the game use the picture of Pac-Man screaming, while the European box art for the SNES version uses the picture of Pac-Man preparing to take off. Since this regional gag may have been missed by players at the time of the game's release, copies of the Genesis version featuring Namco's production line of the cartridge came packaged with a lenticular cover art insert showing both pictures in motion back-to-back.

Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space
1
There exists 5 versions of Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space:

• The original version featuring Donkey Kong
Harry Boy and the Chamber of Secrets, featuring characters from Harry Potter
2003 Digitmon Sapphire featuring Digimon and Bubble Bobble characters
Super Marrio Sunshine, which is identical to Over Time and Space aside from a different title screen and an added glitch, still featuring Donkey Kong and not Mario
Digit Dinosaur 7: The Adventrue of Devildom which is identical to Digitmon aside from a different title screen, and is theorized to predate it due to having Sintax's copyright info.

Of the 3 main releases, the level layouts are closest to Super Mario Bros. in Digitmon, and least accurate in Harry Boy.

PAC-MAN Doodle
2
The Pac-Man Google Doodle was not properly optimized for Firefox users, which led to the Pac-Man sound effects playing in sequence unprompted, even if Google was on a different tab, with many users mistaking the ghosts' movement noises for cartoon police sirens and believing to have caught a virus.

So many questions were posted on Mozilla's Q&A forums that, once they prepared an article to explain the Pac-Man glitch, the company's database server had slowed down to a point where the article took long to upload.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
1
Upon the release of the Hugh Neutron DLC, a glitch was added to the Switch version of the game that made Aang's air ball move an instant KO. This was quickly patched out.

Shrek SuperSlam
subdirectory_arrow_right Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix (Game)
1
The PlayStation 2 version of Shrek SuperSlam contains the first 885 MB disc image for the PlayStation Portable port of Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix as a dummy file. Oddly, this copy of the game is dated to two days after its original retail release in North America, suggesting that there may have been plans for a cancelled re-release of the game.
Dance Dance Revolution Supernova
subdirectory_arrow_right Dance Dance Revolution X (Game)

In Dance Dance Revolution Supernova, the song "Healing-D-Vision" erroneously uses 8th and 16th note steps throughout the song, despite the song itself utilizing a triplet (12th note) beat. This is especially noticeable in the first half of the song. This mistake was fixed in Dance Dance Revolution X.
