Franchise: Mortal Kombat
1
Prior to the release of Mortal Kombat Advance, Ed Boon teased the possibility of a game through a "poll" on his website (there was no known way to actually vote for this) asking which Mortal Kombat characters people would like to see, and which game they would like to see, on the Game Boy Advance.

If the player beats the final boss, Vezon, and gets 100% completion, a bonus cutscene will play. At the end of the cutscene, a whirlpool can be seen forming off the shore of Voya Nui. This acted as a hint towards the next wave of Bionicle toy sets in 2007, which featured a prominent underwater theme with new characters like the Barraki and the Toa Mahri.

The concept of Chicken Run: Eggstraction was concieved during the production of the Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget movie. It is possible that the ending of Dawn of the Nugget, where Spoiler:Ginger leads the flock to become vigilante spies, devoted to rescuing chickens from other coups and factories may have been added to set up the game.
Super Smash Flash 2

Simon Belmont was originally slated to be revealed for Super Smash Flash 2 on August 10th, 2018 during that year's Super Smash Con event. Coincidentially, Simon would be announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate two days later in an August 8th Nintendo Direct. When Contact released its first teaser materials in Japan, some EarthBound fans believed the teasers to be for Mother 3, due to the presence of a doctor who strongly resembles Dr. Andonuts from EarthBound, drawn in a similar artstyle.

Attachment To promote the release of Petpet Park, Neopets began a new mini plot in September 2008 to help set up the game's events. Users were made agents of the Petpet Protection League and tasked with helping the Petpets cross over from their original home of Petaria into the titular Petpet Park. Over the next several weeks, users solved various puzzles and helped the six primary Petpet species reach Petpet Park, learning info about the individual species in the process (i.e. temperment, favorite foods, and special skills) as well as Petpet Park's storyline. On October 27, the Mission Headquarters was updated, and users who successfully helped the Petpets recieved rewrds such as Neopoints, a site theme, and a Petpet Park-themed wearable.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
subdirectory_arrow_right Crash Team Rumble (Game)
1
Attachment Crash Team Rumble had been teased officially as far back as Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time's release date in 2020 - first in It's About Time! where, after 106% completing the game, the player could return to the start of the game and spin Crash's TV multiple times to show a mysterious Wumpa Fruit symbol. This would shortly be followed by a cross promotional video for Uncharted, where the symbol could be seen again on a banner with the words "Wumpa League".

Later in 2021, a Game Designers Conference talk with Toys for Bob studio head Paul Yan would show two hints towards the game's existence: one on a graphic made to show the game's goals with a set of green "this game is..." post-it notes (such as "new vehicles" or "cartoony animation" and red "this game isn't..." post-it notes (such as "beat 'em up" and "open world") with Wumpa League put in the middle as a yellow "might be", obscured by another note; and a second where the screen very briefly flashes to concept art of "Wumpa League". Crash content creators and game journalists would soon receive Wumpa Fruit-shaped pinatas with the Wumpa League branding and colors, which was then followed by a set of meme tweets on the Crash Twitter account relating to Wumpa Fruit, one of which being a play on the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Pepe Silvia conspiracy board meme. Toys for Bob would later release a Crash anniversary celebration video showing the Wumpa League logo again along with a Gem variant. The Wumpa League logos would show once more in the background of a PlayStation crossover commercial. The final tease of 2021 would be in a Christmas package sent to the press which had the Gem sticker placed on the side of the box.

In 2022, the hints started rolling in again on St. Patrick's Day, when Toys for Bob posted a piece of concept art for Crash 4 edited to have four-leaf clovers littered throughout, asking players to find the seasonal hidden objects. However, the Wumpa League symbol was hidden alongside the clovers. Later, the press and Crash fandom would recieve another package, this time an Aku-Aku-branded pizza box promoting Crash 4's release on Steam, with "HUNGRY FOR MORE? TRY OUR NEW WUMPA PIZZA FOR $12.08!" written on the side - the price translating into the date of August 12, which was the date of the Game Awards, which is ultimately where Crash Team Rumble would be revealed.

Gungrave
subdirectory_arrow_right Red Entertainment (Company)
1
Attachment At Sega's Game Jam II showcase in March 2002, Red Entertainment announced two new PlayStation 2 games in collaboration with mangaka Yasuhiro Nightow that would be published by Sega, who announced they acquired a 67% stake in Red Entertainment moments prior. The first game announced was Gungrave, which was released in Japan in July of that year. The second game announced was a game based on Nightow's 1995 manga "Trigun" entitled "Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke", with a short 20-second teaser trailer being revealed featuring silhouettes of multiple characters from the series before ending on Nicholas punching the screen and revealing the game's logo.

Since then, the game has become vaporware as no other updates from either Red Entertainment, Nightow, or Sega have been released about it since its announcement, with the exception of an official statement from Sega in 2002 that gave no comment on its development. Fans speculated that Gungrave was actually a modified version of Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke citing its similar storylines and character designs to that of Trigun, but considering both games were first shown off at the same time and Gungrave was released in Japan only four months later, this is not the case.
