According to Kane Carter, characters from titles released as part of The Fazbear Fanverse Initiative (such as Candy the Cat from Five Nights at Candy's and Popgoes the Weasel from POPGOES Evergreen) were eligible for inclusion in the game, as a manager from Illumix mentioned in a livestream that they were considered part of Scott Cawthon's official roster. However, this never happened as the game was shut down in March 2024 without any characters from these projects being added.

There is an unused game file of a scrapped "Animatronic Trophy List" that named 24 planned characters prior to Special Delivery's release. 15 of those names were absent on the game's release, of which 8 were never added, while the other 7 were added months or a year after the game's release. The unreleased characters include Endo-02, Nightmare Freddy, Nightmare Bonnie, Nightmare Chica, Nightmare Foxy, Nightmarionne, Scrap Baby, and Lefty.

On February 1, 2024, Illumix made a Reddit post announcing that the game would be delisted from app stores by the end of the following day, and that the game would be sunsetted on March 14. For the final six weeks that the game would be online, Illumix started an event called "Final Delivery," which would give every user the chance to do anything the game provided for free by translating all the purchasable items into Faz-Coins, including the game's DLC, "Dark Circus: Encore!". The event rewards would provide large amounts of parts, Faz-Coins, Remnants, and other items for the player to use freely.

YouTuber Markiplier starred in the game's launch trailer as a spokesperson of the Fazbear Funtime Service. It is currently unknown, including to Markiplier himself, if his inclusion in the trailer is considered canon as part of the series.

FNaF AR was Illumix's first game, which was revealed in YouTuber Dawko's interview with Illumix CEO, Kirin Sinha.
