The soundtrack to CD-i Tetris was illegally released on vinyl by UNFORTUNATEFACE in 2020 - although composer Jim Andron was initially opposed to the release, when he contacted UNFORTUNATEFACE he discovered that they had been setting aside royalties from the vinyl release for when they could eventually contact him.
Suikoden

In 1994, a promotional trailer was released showing an early build of Gensou Suikoden 1. Some notable differences are:

Interface:
• In Duels, your current HP are displayed as numbers, not as a bar.
• You don't see the HP of your enemy.
• The menu displaying your party's current HP during random encounters is different. It has a different frame (once, they show a fancy frame, and once a very plain one. Both are different from the final game). It also lacks the heart symbol in front of the HP.
• The number displaying the damage has a slightly different font.

Content:
• A duel with Barbarosa is shown.
• One monster is a color swap of the Strongarm. In the game, it has green skin, in this video, he looks human.
• Some monsters are shown which are not in the final build: a griffin, a soldier, minotaurs (?) and a knight.
• Enemies don't have an idle animation.
• Tengaar uses a spell which appears to not be in the final game.
• Some sprites are potentially different, but the video quality is low, so it's hard to discern.
• One random encounter uses a background with houses, which does not appear in the final game.
• A large number of characters have different portraits.
• It says there are 36 True Runes instead of 27 (Murayama himself said in one of the SRM interviews that they originally planned too make 36 but changed it to 27. It seems they decided on that pretty late in development.)

Despite retaining "the Rapper" in its title and its source material being a music game, PaRappa only ever raps once in the anime adaptation of the PaRappa the Rapper franchise - that being the penultimate scene of the final episode, with the song sung being a rendition of PaRappa the Rapper 2's final stage, Always Love.
Vib-Ribbon

Vib-Ribbon was not initially released in the US due to Sony Computer Entertainment America being unimpressed by the game's simplistic graphics. Designer Masaya Matsuura encouraged fans to campaign for the game's US release, but this was seemingly unsuccessful as the game did not see a release there until the PlayStation 3 in 2014.

Vib-Ribbon was conceived after Mercedes-Benz contacted Sony to make a game to market their A-Class car to a younger audience. After the A-Class car failed the elk test, the game was redesigned with a new character in place of the car.

Suikoden II

Attachment In the Demo ending, other than the dialogue used in the skit, there is unused dialogue present suggesting some parts of the ending were scrapped:

”I think that‘s a wise decision.”
”The normal ending is about to start.”
”The best ending is about to start.”
”You‘re wrong, brother Mukumuku. I heard that it‘s not done yet.”
”Erp.....”

It's worth noting that Mukumuku is silent in the demo while Mekumeku just doesn't load, but is present in memory. Whether it was scrapped or is still unlockable is unknown.

Also in the room, there are 4 maids surrounding Riou just out of bounds at the bottom of the screen. After some testing, it was found to be a developer trick, wherein the player is always in control of Riou, and when interreacting with any of the maids, the demo will end early.

Suikoden II

There were 2 official demo versions released for the game. Suikoden 2 (JP) demo was given alongside Metal Gear Solid (JP) on September 3, 1998; Suikoden 2 (PAL) demo was given alongside Vandal Hearts 2 (PAL) on June 30, 2000.

In the game there are 2 modes: New Game and Battle Mode.

New Game essentially has the the gameplay it would at retail until the battle against the Mist Shade, and an additional skit as an ending. When translated to English, this reads:

”Hey wait a minute! Why don‘t I get a turn!?”

”Seems natural to me.”

”...what does that mean?”

”Hey! Wait a minute!!!!”

In Battle mode, the player traverses North Swallow Pass, now called Trial Road, with a couple of different party members, battling against enemies and a different boss. This mode is also present in the normal game, but is inaccessible without hacking. Both modes also have their respective ending.

There is not much different from the retail version, but the PAL demo does contain the full base game (although it is translated into Spanish for some reason).

Attachment If the player holds the button after performing Hugh Neutron's grounded up light and then presses left or right on the stick, they can skid Hugh very slightly. Hugh moves slightly further with every skid, and, as there is no cap to how far the skids can go, he can become so fast that he teleports from one side of the stage to the other with a single skid. This has no practical use in a battle due to the amount of skids required to begin teleporting, as well as the skid count restarting every time Hugh uses the move, but appears to be a deliberate feature implemented by the developers, as every time Hugh skids, he makes a short squeaking noise.

Attachment Hades was originally planned to be the final boss as evidenced by early concept art of the Hill of Despair showing your party facing Hades in the area instead of Necron, but Hades was instead changed to be an optional boss. There are eyes on the face of his sword and on his throne. Blinking disembodied eyes are also seen in the final battle arena, showing the connection between Hades and the original final battle. Incidentally, eyes are also a feature of many Terran structures (e.g. Pandemonium), perhaps implying a deeper connection that was lost or severed in the final cut of the game.

While no exact reason for the change was given, it is believed that Hades ultimately did not fit the theme as an end boss. Hades is based on Greek mythology as a God of death who would have wanted to bring death to everyone. Necron on the other hand is an original entity based on the Greek word for "death" that wanted to bring an end to existence itself.

In Axie Infinity, a play-to-earn NFT game revolving around breeding, training, and selling axolotl-like creatures called Axies for real money, more experienced players will rent out their Axies to less experienced players in exchange for a portion of the less experienced player's later profits. This feature contains heavy similarities to sharecropping, a real-life practice often described by its use in the United States from the Reconstruction era into the mid-20th century as a post-abolition equivalent to slavery. Due to many of the low level players taking loans coming from low-income countries such as the Philippines and Brazil, Axie Infinity has been described by some analysts as "digital colonialism".

Attachment Pizzahead's third phase was originally going to be, instead of a boss rush, Pizzahead growing desperate and starting to violently attack Peppino directly through kicks and punches rather than cartoon gags. This was scrapped as the development team didn't want Pizzahead to be perceived as an angry character as much as just an evil clown.

In the North American/Worldwide versions of the game, you can unlock Maniac charts by completing all Trick charts. However, the Japanese version of the game which released first contained a much more convoluted two-part process for unlocking Maniac charts that went undiscovered for several years and was previously only thought to be accessible through GameShark cheats:

• The first part involves highlighting several songs in a specific order for very brief seconds:
1. Highlight "Mickey Mouse March (Eurobeat Ver)" for 1 second by coming from the song to the left of it
2. "Chim Chim Cher-ee" for 2 seconds from the left
3. "Macho Duck" for 1 second from the right
4. "ELECTRICAL PARADE (Radio Future MIX)" for 1 second from the left
5. "IT'S A SMALL WORLD" for 2 seconds from the right
6. "I Want You Back" for 1 second from the right

The first song, "Mickey Mouse March (Eurobeat Ver)", must be selected by coming from the left, which means you must immediately move to the song to the left when the song select screen loads. The songs do not count towards unlocking Maniac charts until at least roughly a second passes, so there is some wiggle room to correct mistakes. If you succeed with the first part of this process, then you will not need to redo it should you mess up the second part.

• The second part requires plugging in a second controller and inputting several button combinations on both controllers (P1 = first controller; P2 = second controller):
1. Press Down on the D-Pad twice to select Trick mode
2. Press P1 Triangle and P1 Cross
3. While still holding P1 Triangle, press P1 Cross again
4. Press P1 Square and P1 Right
5. While still holding P1 Right, press P1 Cross
6. While still holding P1 Cross, press P2 Square
7. While still holding P2 Square, press P2 Triangle
8. While still holding P2 Triangle, press P2 Cross
9. While still holding P2 Triangle, press P2 Right
10. Press P2 Cross and P2 Square

Starting with Mission 5: "The Prince and the Outlaw" when Robin learns that Prince John is planning to crown himself king of England and began gathering the Crown Jewels, the player can try and steal all of them throughout the game, including:

• Royal Sceptre, Mission 5: "The Prince and the Outlaw"
• Doomsday Book, Mission 7: "The Evening Visitor"
• Coronation Spoon, Mission 9: "The Lock Up and the Friar"
• Sword of State, Mission 10: "The Silver Arrow"
• Ampulla, Mission 12: "A Wedding and a Funeral"
• Richard's Sigil, Mission 13: "The Escape"
• Royal Crown, Mission 14: "The Letter"

The Silver Arrow itself, also found in Mission 10, despite not counting as one of the Crown Jewels, is displayed alongside the rest of them.

Gathering all of the Crown Jewels increases the final score, but after completing the final mission, it will also unlock a secret ending. Following the last cutscene, a new segment will load showing the main characters, some civilians and soldiers at the Sherwood Forest hideout throwing a techno dance party complete with modern electronic music (in contrast to the orchestral medieval soundtrack throughout the rest of the game), turntables and loudspeakers. The player is only able to control Stuteley, but he will return to his starting position after every attempt to move.

Similarly, a player on Twitter criticized the game for allowing a male NPC, Sam Coe, to flirt with a male player character. In response, Elias Toufexis, the voice actor for Coe, clarified that the character was played as bisexual.
