Franchise: Ace Attorney
2
The first 3 games in this series were released on the GBA, only in Japan. When the first game was ported to the Nintendo DS, a new case was added. This case caused a continuity error in the second game, when the original last case of the first game was said to be Edgeworth's last case. This was corrected in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which updated some of the lines of dialogue to fit the new case into the series timeline. Specifically:

• "(But after "that" case was over...)" became "(But a little after "that" case was over...)"
• "After that case, Edgeworth was in a peculiar state, and he got worse everyday." became "Edgeworth was never quite the same after that case, and then, with the case after that one..."
• "That was one year ago. It was right after you left to go back home." became "That was one year ago. It was a few months after you left to go back home."
Silent Hill 3

Attachment When you beat the game, you can enter a code to unlock a special costume for the New Game+. The code "PrincessHeart" has Heather wearing a superhero outfit. In the PS3 or Xbox360 version, there is an achievement/trophy for wearing the outfit called "Where's Luna?", which is a reference to Sailor Moon.
Bubble Bobble
2
Taito, the creators of Bubble Bobble, announced in 1996 that they had actually lost the source code for the arcade version of Bubble Bobble. All of the various ports were reverse engineered from the arcade ROM and earlier computer and console conversions.
Mega Man X4

When fighting the final boss Spoiler:Sigma, the music that plays in the fight, Spoiler:"Sigma 1st" (where the cloaked and uncloaked form fight occurs) & Spoiler:"Sigma 2nd" (where the final form fight occurs) is oddly swapped in the PC version of the game. This is due to mislabelled filenames, and can be easily fixed by manually swapping the filenames within the data for the PC version.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
1
In 2012, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie was ported to the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network under the PlayStation 2 Classics line. However, it was taken down shortly afterwards with no official explanation. Audiences quickly inferred that the port's withdrawal was due to the poor reception it drew thanks to various emulation issues involved with it, though it may have also been due to THQ going bankrupt and Activision acquiring the license to make games based on Nickelodeon properties around the same time. Among these emulation issues, the 16:9 display (which was the default option) stretched the game rather than properly re-rendering it at a higher aspect ratio, the audio for in-engine cutscenes frequently stuttered and fell behind by up to a second, certain textures were noticeably blurry due to the game being displayed at a higher resolution than what it was designed for, and gameplay suffered from prominent input lag compared to the original release.

During the second phase of the final boss fight in the SNES release, Baby Bowser has three fingers on each hand, contrasting with most official portrayals of Bowser, which show him with four. This error is fixed in the Game Boy Advance version, which redraws his sprites to give him the proper number of fingers.

Bravely Default II
1
Attachment In December 2021, the number of shipments and digital sales of Bravely Default II surpassed one million units across both the Nintendo Switch version (which alone had sold 950,000 copies in August) and the Steam version, making it the fastest-selling entry in the series. To celebrate this achievement, the official Bravely Default Twitter account shared commemorative artwork.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
1
Attachment When the game's logo is shown in the intro of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, the word "BATTLE" has a shining effect, which is another video file overlaid over the 3D logo. There are two versions of this video, one with Japanese kanji and another with Latin script, however due to an oversight, the shining effect will only show Japanese kanji overlaid upon the English text. This would be fixed in the 2012 rerelease, but only for the English language, so other languages with an English logo still experience the error.
The Punisher
1
Attachment Guardroid, the second boss of the game, has a completely different design between the arcade and Genesis versions. The background is also slightly changed between versions, as the curtains in the background are open in the arcade version, showing a couple of moonfish inside an aquarium, whereas in the Genesis version the curtains are closed.

After loading up the Commodore 64 version of the game and waiting until the title screen appears, going to address 8F40 with a memory viewer will reveal a hidden developer message. The message to discourage hackers from cracking the game is presumably from the game's creator Manfred Trenz, and reveals the date that the game began development:

"HI FOLKS, THE MANIAC IS BACK !!!

Mario's Super Picross
1
Attachment The Virtual Console versions of Mario's Super Picross replace three puzzles, likely due to legal issues:

• The likeness of Marilyn Monroe, which was replaced by a tortoise.
• A set of Tetrominos from Tetris, which was replaced by a hermit crab.
• The painting The Scream by Edvard Munch, which was replaced by a chameleon.

Despite The Scream and Monroe's likeness entering the public domain in 2015 and 2012 respectively, the Wii U; New 3DS; and Switch versions of the game keep the replaced puzzles.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
1
Attachment Due to the limited amount of space on the Sega Game Gear screen, the title screen for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine on that platform is spelled as Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machin.
Frogger
1
The music in Frogger is taken from a variety of sources, some public domain (such as the Japanese nursery rhyme "Dog Policeman" and the minstrel song "Camptown Races") while others are stolen copyrighted music from anime (the Japanese theme songs to Rascall the Raccoon and Heidi, Girl of the Alps).

Re-releases of Frogger tend to replace all of the music in the game, including certain public domain songs, with original tracks (though "Camptown Races" tends to remain intact).

Um Jammer Lammy
subdirectory_arrow_right Um Jammer Lammy Now (Game)
1
Stage 1 of Um Jammer Lammy was incomplete in the original PlayStation version, not being accessible in either multiplayer or PaRappa's story. With a GameShark code, a US player can access an unfinished version of PaRappa's stage 1, which has no animations and only uses triangle buttons. Stage 1 would eventually be finished for Um Jammer Lammy NOW!, released 9 months after the PlayStation version, with Rammy and PaRappa support.

Stage 1 is the only PaRappa stage to use the instrumental of the Lammy version.
PaRappa the Rapper
1
In the US PSP and PS4 versions of PaRappa the Rapper, PJ Berri and Katy Kat's Chunky Burger orders in the intro are censored - in the PS1 version they ask for a "giant vanilla frosty" and a "large chocolate frosty" respectively, but in the remastered version they instead ask for a "giant vanilla" and "large chocolate". The subtitles for PJ's order completely omit any drink from his order. This is due to "Frosty" (in the context of a drink) being trademarked by Wendy's. Despite this copyright issue, the claim from Katy Kat that Jet Baby could defeat Superman goes uncensored.
Pac-Land
subdirectory_arrow_right Pac-Man Museum+ (Game)
1
Attachment The wheels on the ghost cars in Pac-Land feature a Manji, a symbol used in Buddhism to represent eternal cycling. In the Pac-Man Museum+ version of Pac-Land, the wheel design was changed to avoid resemblances to modern Swastikas associated with Nazism.

Attachment Despite the Game Boy Advance version of Crazy Frog Racer being rated for all ages, Rasta Dog's model has what appears to be a marijuana cigarette resting in his mouth, and is just barely visible in-game due to sprite compression.
