A popular rumor existed within Russian school playgrounds relating to the Elektronika IM-02, a Soviet-era Russian bootleg version of the Game & Watch game Mickey Mouse/Egg featuring characters from the Russian cartoon Nu, Pogodi!. The rumor claimed that, if one achieved 1,000 points in the game, the device would play a full episode of the cartoon.

subdirectory_arrow_right Yandere Simulator (Game)
1
Attachment YandereDev, the creator of Yandere Simulator, was originally intended to appear as a playable character as part of Monsters & Mortals' crossover DLC with Yandere Simulator. However, his inclusion was scrapped due to the devs feeling it would be out of place given that the Yandere Simulator DLC was intended to focus specifically on Yandere Simulator itself. Despite this, some fans believe that YandereDev's removal was due to various controversies surrounding him at the time.
Ghost of Tsushima
1
Attachment Located in the Southwest region of Iki Island is a rocky island called "Saruiwa", which translates to "monkey rock", the word 'saru' meaning monkey and the word 'iwa' meaning rock. It is named as such because the rock formation resembles a monkey. This island is also named after and based on the Saruiwa rock formation found on the real Iki Island in Japan, though it should be noted that the in-game location and real-life location do not match up geographically.
Popgoes Evergreen
1
On July 5, 2023, POPGOES Evergreen was featured on a Times Square billboard via PixelStar. The video used was a combined version of the teasers for False Balloon Boy and False Freddy, two of the unique animatronics being featured in the game.
Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery

According to Kane Carter, characters from titles released as part of The Fazbear Fanverse Initiative (such as Candy the Cat from Five Nights at Candy's and Popgoes the Weasel from POPGOES Evergreen) were eligible for inclusion in the game, as a manager from Illumix mentioned in a livestream that they were considered part of Scott Cawthon's official roster. However, this never happened as the game was shut down in March 2024 without any characters from these projects being added.
Ghost of Tsushima
1
In an interview with Nate Fox, Ghost of Tsushima's creative director, he said that:

"The game was definitely scripted to provide more storms as you do things which are extremely Ghost driven".

This is referring to the change in weather that can happen throughout the game, becoming more stormy and violent as Jin uses more "dishonorable" Ghost techniques over his traditional Samurai techniques. This adds to the theme of Jin losing his way as a samurai to protect his homeland of Tsushima.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

In an interview with IGN, the game's director Shiro Mouri said that Mario's creator Shigeru Miyamoto was, at first, not a fan of Elephant Mario as he believed it "did not look like a Mario character." Miyamoto also believed the physics for the power-up wasn't realistic to an actual elephant.

The popularity with fans after its reveal was what eventually changed Miyamoto's mind.

The required items to be worn:
•The Crooked Kama headband

Super Smash Bros. Melee

During the game's development, Lucas - the protagonist of Mother 3 - was briefly considered as a replacement for Ness by the development team. However, due to the delays surrounding Mother 3's original Nintendo 64 release (and that game's eventual cancellation), Ness returned instead - as was originally planned.

Both Ness and Lucas would go on to be playable in this game's sequel, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, though Lucas's appearance would be based on Mother 3's eventual Game Boy Advance release as opposed to what is now commonly referred to in the fan community as "EarthBound 64".

Attachment The background of the Punch-Out!! microgame is a screenshot taken in an unoffical Japanese emulator known as VirtuaNES, as can be noted by a Windows 9X window framing the background - this is covered by an illustration of a television in the game.
Nickelodeon 3D Movie Maker
1
Attachment In the city set of Nickelodeon 3D Movie Maker, a fried chicken store titled "Chick N' Chunks" can be seen. This is not the name of any one location from any Nickelodeon series, but its branding is reminiscent of the Chokey Chicken restaurant from Rocko's Modern Life, a connection further supported by Filburt and Dr. Hutchison's trailer home appearing on the same map.

In Season 4 of Rocko's Modern Life, released the same year as Nickelodeon 3D Movie Maker, the Chokey Chicken was renamed "Chewy Chicken" due to the original name's sexual slang meaning, meaning that Chick N' Chunks may have been an alternate censorship of the "Chokey Chicken" name.
Pizza Tower

Attachment During development of the game, Peppino was stated to be a war veteran who suffers from PTSD. Following the release of the game, this was retconned, with game creator McPig stating that Peppino probably merely imagined his participation in conflict.
