Alex Kidd in Miracle World
subdirectory_arrow_right Sega Ages Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Game)
2
Attachment Contrary to popular belief, the Janken battles in Alex Kidd in Miracle World are not RNG-based, but instead always have a set winning move.

•Stone-Head: Rock, Scissors
•Scissor-Head: Scissors, Paper
•Paper-Head: Rock, Scissors
•Stone-Head Rematch: Rock, Scissors
•Scissor-Head Rematch: Rock, Rock
•Paper-Head Rematch: Rock, Scissors
•Janken the Great: Paper, Paper

If you incorrectly answer, that will change the answers from that point on.

In the Sega Ages release of the game for Nintendo Switch, one of the game's borders has the correct Janken moves on the top and bottom.

Talking Tom Cat
1
The pro version of Talking Tom Cat has an anti-piracy feature - if the game detects that it was pirated, Tom's voice will be so fast that it cannot be comprehended. The free and 2.0 versions of the game do not have this feature.
PlayStation Move Ape Escape
1
An English version of the game was first released in select Asian countries such as Singapore alongside a PlayStation Move bundle in 2011, where it was known as "Ape Escape: On the Move". It would later be released on the PlayStation Store in the US during the Summer of that year.

1
Attachment The wheels on the ghost cars in Pac-Land feature a Manji, a symbol used in Buddhism to represent eternal cycling. In the Pac-Man Museum+ version of Pac-Land, the wheel design was changed to avoid resemblances to modern Swastikas associated with Nazism.
Mario Bros.

2
Mario Bros. was intentionally designed to be less graphically intensive than other games coming out at the same point so its Famicom conversion would seem more authentic to the arcade version.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
subdirectory_arrow_right Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 (Game)
1
While most other characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 recieved revamped movesets, Jenny's moveset is nigh identical to her moveset from the first NASB aside from inputs that didn't exist in the NASB 1 moveset template. This is due to moveset and gameplay designer Thaddeus Crews considering Jenny's moveset to be one of his favorite kits from the first game.

Super Mario Bros.
subdirectory_arrow_right Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Game), Mario (Franchise)
3
According to Super Mario Bros. Wonder's art director Masanobu Sato, Shigeru Miyamoto reportedly explained during the development of the first Super Mario Bros. that the reason why Goombas damage Mario when walking into them is because they bite Mario on impact. Due to graphical and hardware limitations, this could not be shown at the time. However, while Super Mario Bros. Wonder is thought to be the first game in the mainline series that shows this detail in gameplay, it's not the first game in the overall franchise to show it, as Goombas had been seen biting in earlier spin-off games like Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Taz-Mania 2
subdirectory_arrow_right Taz-Mania (Game)
1
There were two Game Boy games based on Taz-Mania developed roughly around the same time, but were released in each region at different points and under different names:

• The first game Taz-Mania was released in 1994 and was released in North America under that name, but in Europe the game was renamed to Looney Tunes 2: Tasmanian Devil in Island Chase. Despite this, the game's title screen was not changed and still reads as Taz-Mania.

• The second game was released in Europe in 1993 under the name Taz-Mania to compensate for the first one being rebranded to a general Looney Tunes game and had no indication of being a second Taz-Mania game. The North American version of the game would be released as Taz-Mania 2 in 1997, long after the European version of the game and two years after the show it was based on ended.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2
2
The Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has a reputation as one of the hardest installments in the Sonic franchise due to making minimal changes to already-challenging level layouts designed for the Master System's larger aspect ratio on the notoriously small Game Gear screen.

Because Sega prefers to release the Game Gear version of the game on newer hardware, and the original Master System version only being released in the Master System's most successful regions (Europe, Australia, and Brazil), most players are only familiar with the version generally considered inferior.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
3
Several of Konami's arcade beat-em-ups had a recurring feature common among other arcade games where if you wait too long to proceed to the next screen, the game will punish you for idling. In most games, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, Sunset Riders, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, and Mystic Warriors: Wrath of the Ninjas to name a few, the game will take away a life in one way or another for waiting too long. However, in some other games like The Simpsons Arcade Game and Asterix, the player will only take a select amount of damage for idling, and may not necessarily be enough to lose a life.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
1
Attachment In the original console releases and PC version of the game, the fourth section of the first world The Fairy Council has a fairy say in a cutscene, "Oh my god, what is going on here?" Then later, "Oh my god, its an unspeakable atrocity!" The phrase 'Oh my god' was removed in the HD remaster for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360. Oddly enough, in the HD remaster, the minigame Crush maintains the phrase as a reactionary on-screen quote if players manage to score 10 consecutive hit combos.

If Sonic the Hedgehog and either Peter Venkman and Abby Yates are placed together, Sonic will ask them if they could take a look at a doll that looks like his best friend Tails. This is a reference to the Tails Doll that originated from Sonic R, another game developed by Traveller's Tales.

1
While the Itch.io version of the game was released on schedule, the Steam version was delayed due to Steam erroneously believing the game was made using AI, forcing the devs to prove that the game was made by humans. Unfortunately, Steam's review team rejected the inital appeal due to an error on their part, forcing them to re-apply. The Steam version was finally released on September 29, 2023.
