If Sonic the Hedgehog is placed with Cyborg, he could ask if Dr. Eggman roboticized him (misspelled as roboticise). This is a reference to the concept of roboticization featured in media outside of the Sonic games, most notably the 1993 SatAM cartoon and Archie comics.

If Sonic the Hedgehog and Bart Simpson are together, Sonic may mention to Bart that if he sees a gold brick, he should “Just take it! Take it, take it, take it, take it! TAKE IT!”. This is a reference to The Simpsons episode “Marge Be Not Proud”, in which a vision of Sonic tells Bart the same thing about stealing a copy of the fictional game Bonestorm.

The song "Bi" (び, pronounced like "bee") is notable for containing an 8-measure long, 16th note jackhammer section (a section of hitting the same button continuously) in its Maximum Chart. Fittingly, the jackhammer in question is the B Button.

When brought over to Dance Dance Revolution A20, and later A20 Plus, the Challenge Chart for the song references this section, using down arrows for its jackhammer, mirroring the position of the B Button in Sound Voltex.

The screen that appears during Jackson Storm's ability shows a set of numbers in the bottom-left corner in the order of "4-8-15-16-23-42". This is a reference to the TV series "Lost", where the set of numbers are associated with the overall mystery of the show.
Mortal Kombat 1
1
In an intro with Shang Tsung and Johnny Cage, after the former mentions how his plan was foiled, the latter will comment: "Just like a bunch of meddling kids." This is a reference to Scooby-Doo, where antagonists will commonly refer to Mystery Inc. as "meddling kids".
Jingle Brawl
3
In Super Fall Brawl, one of the many reskins of Jingle Brawl, the new character was intended to be Sheen Estevez from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, in promotion for his then-new spin-off series Planet Sheen. However, Sheen was not coded correctly, making him near-impossible to beat in a fight. The game's second update would remove Sheen and his stage completely, and he would never be added back in, making Fall Brawl the only Super Brawl game without any new combatants. Sheen would return in Super Brawl 2, though the House of Pain stage, based on the first episode of Planet Sheen, would be swapped for a Zeenu stage generally based on Planet Sheen instead of a single episode.
subdirectory_arrow_right Bubble Bobble (Franchise)
1
When Tsuyoshi Tozak, director of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, was asked about if Bub and Bob would appear in the Super Smash Bros. franchise, they simply responded "let's skip that question". The interviewer theorized that they may have been under a non-disclosure agreement, citing a similar response when asking Studio MDHR, the developers of Cuphead, about if they wanted to make an animated series based on their game, which did eventually happen. However, come the end of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's DLC cycle, a Bubble Bobble multimedia adaptation did not happen in any form, suggesting that Tozak was likely indifferent on the possibility rather than under NDA.

The cheat code "UUDDLRLRBAS", which gives the player 25% health, is an abbreviated version of the Konami Code, where each of the letters correspond to the input of Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start.
Yo-kai Watch 3
1
The Yo-Kai Deadcool is a parody of the Marvel Comics character Deadpool. Not only are their names, designs, and personalities similar, but three of Deadcool's preset nicknames are direct references to Deadpool. The three identifiable references being "Wade", a reference to Deadpool's real name Wade Wilson, "Ryan", a reference to Ryan Reynolds who portrays Wade Wilson/Deadpool in the live-action films, and "Mr. Cool", which appears to be a reference to a scene from the 2016 film in which the taxi driver Dopinder refers to Deadpool as "Mr. Pool". The last nickname "Rhys" is more ambiguous and does not appear to have a clear origin related to Deadpool.

Additionally, Deadcool's Japanese voice actor, Takehito Koyasu, has voiced Deadpool in other pieces of media.

Drill Dozer
1
Attachment The US version of Drill Dozer modifies some of the unlockable generic costumes to reference (or further emphasize existing references to) different Game Freak and Nintendo games:

• A schoolgirl outfit was swapped for an outfit of Leaf from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
• A nurse outfit was given extra details to reference Click Medic.
• A futuristic outfit was replaced with a Pulseman outfit.
• Costumes already based on Mario and Mendel Palace being given extra details from their source material.

Despite references to Click Medic and Pulseman being added in the US version, those games had not received US releases at that point. These changes were reverted for the European version of the game.

• Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz from Wreck-It Ralph
• Crinkly Wrinkly from OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes

The game features an unused sixth hidden tape called "Herd of Mouth with Wooly the Sheep" that can only be accessed by exploiting the game. However, the tape is entirely comprised of Wooly sitting at a table while occasionally making minor gestures for ten minutes, suggesting that the tape was added purely to mess with exploiters.

God of War

There is a special gauntlet in the game called "The Shattered Gauntlet of Ages" which can be equipped with 6 different stone runes. This is a reference to the Infinity Gauntlet, an item used by Thanos in the Marvel Comics universe which can be equipped with 6 Infinity Stones.
God of War

The treasure map titled "The Boat Captain's Key" is a reference to a boat captain in the original God of War. Instead of saving him from getting eaten by the Hydra, Kratos stole a key from around his neck and let him die.
God of War
2
At E3 2016, footage was shown of Atreus and Kratos crossing a bridge where they were subsequently attacked by draugrs and a troll from under said bridge. This fight does not happen at the bridge in the final version of the game and instead happens a little later into the game, but there is dialogue from Atreus after crossing that bridge that hints at this early version of the fight.

Attachment In issue 21 of IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog comic book, two characters on page 20 resemble Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, the main protagonists of the animated series "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Car Noir". These characters would later appear again in "Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2020" on page 7, itself a reference to the events of this issue.
