Excluding Angelina Jolie, who played her in the movies, Lara Croft has been portrayed by ten models, from Nathalie Cook (who was replaced with Vanessa Demouy before the game was released) to Alison Carroll.
Platform: Dreamcast
1
The Dreamcast startup sound was composed by Japanese electronic/classical musician and former Yellow Magic Orchestra member Ryuichi Sakamoto. Sakamoto, by then internationally renowned for his film scores, was a personal friend of Kenji Eno, who came up with the console's name.

Attachment Nell McAndrews undertook the role of Lara Croft in 1998 through to 1999, during which time she posed nude for Playboy. At the time, Eidos threatened Playboy with a lawsuit. They were unable to alter the U.S. printing, but won a lawsuit forcing the U.K. printing of the magazine to cover up the Tomb Raider logo on the cover. This scandal was likely the reason she was replaced as the role of Lara Croft.
Franchise: Tomb Raider
1
Lara Croft's design was based on the style of Swedish pop star Neneh Cherry, and the attitude of Tank Girl from the comic book series of the same name.
Franchise: Tomb Raider

Attachment In 2002, actress Sofia Vergara portrayed Lara Croft for a live-action Visa Monster Chase commercial. In the ad she was handed a PlayStation 2 version of "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", a game that doesn't exist, but uses the the same artwork as Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness.
Franchise: Phantasy Star
1
According to a 1993 World of Phantasy Star book interview with Miki Morimoto, she stated that the meaning of the game's title was like “a planet/star of fantasy” and that Yuji Naka was the one who originally named the game Phantasy Star. He started with just the word "Fantasy", and played around with it until he figured out what to name the game. He was also influenced by a song called "Nagisa no Fantasy" (Beachside Fantasy) by his favorite singer, an idol named Noriko Sakai.
Space Channel 5
1
Attachment Michael Jackson's cameo appearance in Space Channel 5 under the name "Space Michael" originated from when he was shown a near-finished version of the game by Sega staff member Shuji Utsumi, and immediately wanted to be featured in it. The game's creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi received the call about Jackson's wishes only one month before the game's completion, and initially wanted to turn him down due to these time constraints. However, he and the rest of the team eventually conceded and wanted to include him, having been inspired by his music videos during development. They ultimately added him into the game by substituting a Morolian-controlled NPC character for a model based on him and added moves based on his famous dance moves, initially expecting him to dislike it. Jackson, fully realizing the pressures the team were facing, approved the appearance and provided voice lines for his character. Mizuguchi recalled Jackson's reaction in a 2009 Den-fami Nico Game interview following his death:

Mizuguchi: "I could only do this much, so I wondered if Michael would refuse. Then ... (Mr. Mizuguchi imitating Michael's voice) 'Oh, OK!' …… Because!"

Jackson would reprise the role of Space Michael in an expanded capacity in Space Channel 5: Part 2.

In 2004, Dualstar Entertainment, the company that represents celebrity twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen sued Acclaim for not providing a contractually-obligated $177,000 royalties payment for the video games starring the celebrities following the termination of the license. Dualstar described this incident in a letter as "the single dark spot on the otherwise unblemished success story of the Mary-Kate & Ashley brand."

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
2
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the first game in the "Batman: Arkham" series to not feature Batman as the main protagonist, though he does still appear in the game. At The Game Awards 2022, a trailer for the game was released which ended with a brief tribute to longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy, who passed away on November 10, 2022. Host Geoff Keighley then confirmed that Conroy would be voicing Batman "one final time" in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League; this game being Conroy's final performance as Batman was a major promotional point in online articles. However, on January 30, 2024, days prior to the game's release, IGN reported that there were two additional projects he recorded lines for as Batman prior to his death that would be released posthumously. While one of those projects, "Batman: Caped Crusader", ultimately did not feature Conroy, the other reported project, "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3", was later confirmed to be Conroy's actual final performance as Batman, making his purported last performance in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League false advertising.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!
2
When actor Rahul Kohli's likeness was used as a trooper card in the 2023 remake of Like a Dragon: Ishin!, he expressed a feeling that there were notable differences in corresponding with Western and Eastern game studios. In an interview with Digital Trends, he was quoted as saying:

"I definitely saw a difference between working with Western and Eastern studios. Our correspondence with Sega and RGG was so involved and sweet. They really cared, and it felt so much more collaborative. Nothing specific, but when I've been involved in other things, it's like, 'Just do the voice, mate," and then you never hear about it again. I never expected to have the back and forth of RGG constantly checking in to ask, "Is Rahul happy with this? Does he like the artwork?" I never said no to any of it, but I'm sure if I had any type of gripe, they would have obliged, so I felt very welcome and involved."
Alvin and the Chipmunks
1
Jason Lee reprises his role as David Seville from the live-action "Alvin and the Chipmunks" films in the first tie-in game, while Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman reprise their roles from the 1980s cartoon and the films (the singing voices for Alvin and Theodore, respectively, with Janice also reprising her role as the Chipettes in the second and third games). However, Steve Vining does not reprise his role as the singing voice of Simon, with his role instead given to Ross.

Braid
subdirectory_arrow_right Number None Inc. (Company)
1
When Braid first released, its creator Jonathan Blow was not happy about the reception the game received, despite much of it being overwhelmingly positive, as he felt players didn't catch on to its deeper themes and messages, and only cared about its aesthetic and puzzles. This view of his game's success has made him a contentious figure, with particular infamy being drawn from his appearance in the 2012 documentary film Indie Game: The Movie, which has a scene of him silently contemplating in a dark room, while audio from a video of rapper Soulja Boy having fun with the game while completely ignoring its plot plays in the background.

Attachment In 2018, rapper Soulja Boy attempted to sell his own line of video game consoles, collectively called the SouljaGame line, sold for $149.99 for a console and $99.99 for a handheld. Advertising claimed that the consoles would be compatible with a variety of consoles' games, including modern platforms like the PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch. These, quite obviously, did not have such compatibility, but rather were a generic retro emulator console one could find on small business-oriented retail websites such as Wish and AliExpress loaded with pirated and modified games from the Neo Geo; NES; Game Boy Advance; Game Boy Color; Game Boy; Sega Genesis; SNES; Master System; Game Gear; and PlayStation libraries sold at a markup. The only difference from these pre-existing consoles being a photograph of Soulja printed onto the box. Soulja Boy would eventually stop selling SouljaGame consoles, with the website for the console redirecting to Nintendo's 3DS website.
