In the intro to the game, Ganon's name is misspelled as "Gannon".
The game's test period had took almost two years, longer than the time that was spent developing it. One of the reasons was due to a certain number of bugs which were still present.
Nearly all of the scenery in the game were of shots taken of the Los Angeles area. Some of the background terrain textures were vacation type pictures taken from a helicopter in Hawaii by one of the developers before the game's actual development had started. The image's file sizes took up much of the game's RAM usage resulting in the slow scrolling backgrounds.
The story doesn't take place in Hyrule, but rather in "Tolemac". If you reverse Tolemac, it spells out Camelot, the name of the castle and court of King Arthur.
