Nearly all of the scenery in the game were of shots taken of the Los Angeles area. Some of the background terrain textures were vacation type pictures taken from a helicopter in Hawaii by one of the developers before the game's actual development had started. The image's file sizes took up much of the game's RAM usage resulting in the slow scrolling backgrounds.
