The production team came up with many designs for the game's areas by building miniatures out of LEGO.
Resident Evil
1
Resident Evil's original Japanese name, Biohazard, was changed because trademarking "Biohazard" would have been too difficult, mostly due to a DOS game and a band of the same name. The name "Resident Evil" came from a naming contest held within the company.

Tamagon was removed in the American version of the game but the trophy can still be found with Action Replay, complete with a translated description. Stranger still, the Tamagon trophy was removed outright from the European version of the game and cannot even be found with a cheat device, despite the fact that Devil World was released in European countries.
South Park

1
Attachment A Game Boy Color version of the game was at one point being developed, however it was supposedly canceled because the show's creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone didn't think it was right for the platform because children were its main demographic. Only a single screenshot was released to the public in Nintendo Power magazine issue 114.

It's possible that Acclaim reused the game for "Maya the Bee" in Europe and "Mary Kate & Ashley" in the US as both share a similar HUD to the South Park game.

A prototype version of the game was later dumped onto the Internet in 2018.

Devil World is the only one of Shigeru Miyamoto's games to have initially missed out on an American release. This is due to Nintendo of America's strict policy against religious imagery. 1

However, it was never added to the game. It is presumed that it is replaced with the Konami Code secret where Pen dances.

'Cave, I'm begging you, don't! Please!'
'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!'
*GLaDOS voice* 'I am awake. And I am going to kill you all.'

It is also possible to access the room without cheats by using the 'Portal edge Glitch' on PC or it can be accessed on console and pc using a glitch called 'Portal clipping'.
Super Mario 3D Land

World 5-2 is designed in a Legend of Zelda format, using a top-down view, lots of rooms, and no stompable enemies. Also, if you light all of the torches in a certain room using a Fire Flower, a secret door opens and a Zelda sound effect is heard. The level was designed in honor of LoZ's 25th anniversary, hinted at by the level number: "5-2" is "25" backwards.
