Originally, the translated script of the DS version of IV was simply going to copy and paste the English script of the Game Boy Advance version with some alterations. Translator Tom Slattery, however, was a huge fan of the original game and offered to translate the entire game from scratch, making it more accurate to the original Japanese text while also using some modern series terms (such as "Eidolons" for the summon monsters.)

Attachment According to Masahiro Sakurai, in the November 2014 issue of GameInformer, the reason why Super Smash Bros. was released on two different consoles was because he was a “freelance game designer,” and that having a unique version of the game makes it fun.

"The first reason is that I think both portables and home consoles have their own traits that make them fun. I've gone into that in previous interviews, so I'll omit the details here.

One big reason for this approach is because I'm a freelance game designer ... I'm always going to be the center of any Smash Bros. project, but since I don't have my own personal studio, the staff changes in and out with each project. Changing development studios like this also means that you can't build out from the know-how and in-house assets you've accumulated over time.

As a development environment, it's different from a publisher that can work on fighting games, shooters, and open-world titles all at once. For us, even if things look the same, it's all completely different, completely built from scratch. If we started with a console project then moved on to the portable platform, once one team finished up their work, we'd have to wait and hand everything over to another team."

Attachment In addition to being released in PAL territories, the Nintendo 64 version was also due for release in North America, however that release was later canceled. Despite this, the Nintendo 64 port still received a release in Brazil, which has since become rare.
Street Fighter V

Attachment Guile's V-Skill was originally allowed the player enter a crouched, fully charged state that could cancel any move. It was removed because the move was incredibily strong.
Street Fighter V
1
Attachment Charlie Nash's V-Skill consisted of him perfoming a high-speed dash on the ground or in the air. It was cut because it overlapped with the image of the Sonic Move V-Trigger teleport, as well as not being considered that interesting of an idea by the developers.
Street Fighter V

Attachment Zangief's V-Skill was originally going to be a move called “Grab Anything”, which would have allowed the Russian Brawler to activate a grab from any normal attack on the ground or in the air. It was cut because the move was considered too strong.
Grand Theft Auto IV

There were two cut random character missions in The Ballad of Gay Tony. They both involved Luis running into ex-girlfriends. One mission has Luis taking the ex-girlfriend home and defending himself from her brothers, while the other involved the ex planting a bomb in Luis' car. It is unclear if these missions involved the same girlfriend, or two different ones.
Mafia II
1
There was some sort of job system cut from the game. It involved Vito being able to take jobs from different characters, but not much is left besides dialogue in the game's files.
Red Dead Redemption

Attachment There are unused wanted posters for John Marston and Abraham Reyes in the game's files. These may have been placed around the map at some point. However, the Reyes poster is very different compared to the other posters.
Final Fight 3

In the European version of the game, holding Select until the Capcom logo fades away will bring up a debug menu which allows for various cheats such as health regeneration and a stage select. In the North American version of the game, this is disabled and only accessible via an Action Replay or similar device.
Injustice 2
1
At one point, NetherRealm Studios considered making a Fighter Pack 0, consisting of characters from Injustice: Gods Among Us, e.g. Ares, Batgirl, Doomsday and Shazam, however the idea was scrapped.
Overwatch
1
When Hanamura was first implemented, Point B had a circular design, and the victory pose location on the map was the map origin as the victory pose placement tool hadn't been used yet. Since the origin was partially submerged, the development team referred to the victory pose screen as "The Hottub" as characters looked like they were in a bath.
Street Fighter V
1
Dhalsim's V-Skill originally consisted of him forcibly switching positions with the opponent, making it effective against projectile characters.

This move wasn't as good as the developers originally envisioned, and it proved frustrating for players, so this move wasn't included in the released game.
Street Fighter V
1
Attachment Vega's original V-Trigger consisted of Vega calling down a steel cage that he could climb up and attack from in a similar vein to his stage in Street Fighter II and Street Fighter Alpha 3. It was never implemented, because the cost of implementing the move would be too high.
Street Fighter V

Attachment Zeku's design had gone through several different changes during it's development. Among those scrapped concepts include a demon slayer and a fighter who is ''skilled at picking up random items and turning them into make-shift weapons''.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

The game is the first one in the series to have been written by a westerner. The writer for the game was Richard Pearsey, credited as Narrative Consultant, who had previously worked on Spec Ops: The Line and F.E.A.R., among others.

When asked about guest characters, similar to Banjo & Kazooie in the original game, Steve Lycett stated that they would prefer to go with characters who aren't tied to a specific company for the sake of including them on all platforms. He goes on to list Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble, Arthur from Ghosts’n Goblins, Mega Man, and Pac-Man as characters they would love to use under this criteria.

Despite this 'available on all platforms' preference, Lycett added, "Though if I personally had my pick, it’d be Kirby! Everyone knows he is nails!"
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven

During the 2nd demo of the game, the situation finisher (stage fatality) in Joestar Mansion featured a defeated character getting impaled onto The Love Goddess's statue. This was modified before the final release, with the screen turning white before impalement.
A Hat in Time
1
In Queen Vanessa's Manor, there is an entire third floor that went unused in the final build of the game, along with what appears to be a shadow version of Hat Girl. The reason why the floor was cut was simply because the developers didn't like how it turned out. It is still in the game, but it cannot be accessed through normal play.
