Talking Tom Cat
2
The original model of Talking Tom was downloaded from the model-purchasing website TurboSquid, and was taken off of the site following the popularity of the app. Since Talking Tom Cat used FMV videos and later Talking Friends games used a custom model, the original Tom model is now considered lost media.
BFDIA 5b

During YouTuber Ni Hao Guylan's Let's Play of BFDIA 5b, he struggled on an early version of Level 29. The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog
2
The game's Steam page has a section titled "Canon or headcanon?", which reads as follows:

"You know what they say: everything is canon*.

*This is not a Sonic Team title, but we strongly believe in the power of headcanon!"

This is a reference to an infamous tweet made by the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account in response to a tweet from the Puyo Puyo Twitter account showing off art made to commemorate Sonic's inclusion in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, where the Sonic Twitter account claimed that "Everything is canon".

Chase the Chuck Wagon
2
There has been a trend of retrospective reviews and historical content relating to the North American video game crash of 1983 mentioning Chase the Chuck Wagon as a contributing game to the crash, despite the fact that it only had a limited mail-order release and was not the first product-placement-based video game. This is theorized by the blog/website "Bad Game Hall of Fame" to be the result of a quote from the G4 docuseries Icons that was taken out of context, referring to a proliferation of companies trying to branch into video games as opposed to any specific games or the use of product placement, with the mistaken belief that Chase the Chuck Wagon was published or developed by Purina itself like with Quaker Oats' "U.S. Games" brand. The quote in question reads:

"Toy companies like Parker Brothers and Hasbro form video game divisions. But when unrelated companies like Chuck Wagon dog food and Quaker Oats jump on-board, the market begins to turn."

She called the game "unrealistic" and accused Nintendo of "taking all the cruelty out of milking". She also said that, instead of "sugarcoating the subject", Nintendo should instead move over to "simulating activities in which no animals suffer".

One of the power-ups in New Super Chick Sisters is the "Sea Kitten Suit", a reference to an unsuccessful PETA campaign from around the same time advocating for people to begin calling fish "sea kittens" so people would be put off from the idea of eating a "kitten".

Ghost of Tsushima
1
In September of 2020, a typhoon toppled a torii gate at the Shinto Shrine of Watatsumi on the Island of Tsushima. A few months later in November of 2020, a priest from the shrine, Yuichi Hirayama, created a fundraising campaign page to help rebuild said torii gate. Fans of Ghost of Tsushima flooded the campaign page and smashed the goal amount of ¥ 5 million Yen (about $48,000 USD) eventually hitting over 20 million Yen by the end of December 2020. As of now it is unknown whether the gate has been fully rebuilt or not, as updates on the crowdfunding page were only viewable to supporters, although it appears to have gotten far enough that the last supporter update headlines in 2022 concerned the construction of a memorial monument and nameplate.
