Attachment During the Spoiler:Spamton NEO fight in Chapter 2, the player can exploit a glitch that forces Spoiler:the yellow SOUL to fire multiple charged shots in quick succession with the Z and Enter keys, pressing one while holding down the other.

A subsequent patch chose not to remove the glitch, but rather introduce a penalizing Easter egg based on it, where Spoiler:firing six to ten charged shots with this exploit angers Spamton NEO and results in his attacks scaling up in damage with each successive use of the glitch.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

In the early version of the game, Leon was able to air throw an opponent into the bouncing walls and the flammable fuel tanks in 'The Show' and 'Fuel' stages, respectively, an infinite number of times, making him overpowered in these stages. This was patched in a later version.
The King of Fighters XIII

The initial release of the arcade version suffered from several gameplay affecting bugs. If any of these bugs relating to Hwa Jai, Vice, and Ralf were triggered during a tournament, the player who executed them would either be disqualified or need to reposition themselves on the stage.

Likely a leftover feature from debug testing, a code could be activated in earlier versions of the game that can instantly kill the characters by holding ZL/ZR/L/R/X/D-Pad Down for around 5 seconds. It could also be activated in the middle of cutscenes or while talking to NPCs. This code was removed in version 2.1.0 of the game.

When Kazuya is in Rage Mode and the player is using a Pro Controller or a pair of Joy-Cons, the HD Rumble feature in those controllers will cause them to vibrate in a way that mimics the "thumping" of a heartbeat. This can also be felt with a GameCube controller connected to an adapter, although instead of "thumping", it creates a short, light vibration every couple of seconds due to GameCube controllers lacking the HD Rumble.

According to the game's director and producer Hiroshi Yoshimura in YouTuber Paolo fromTOKYO's "Day in the Life of a Japanese Game Programmer" video, it took the development team of 200 people up to five years to make the game after they first planned it. He also revealed in the video that they would continue to update Code Vein by listening to user feedback as well as making new downloadable content.

After defeating the final boss Zeon, when Mitula disappears with the jewels of Light & Evil, her theme song "Water Goddess Mitula" fades out, then plays "Panic" when the Ancient Tower is being sealed in the International release of the game. But in the Japanese version, the "Water Goddess Mitula" theme plays out until Bowie and the others escape the Ancient Tower. The International version likely adjusted the timing of those songs to fit the situation of the cutscene.

Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition, an expanded 2017 re-release of the game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch and PC, uses the full uncompressed video footage recorded for the original game. Additional bonus content includes deleted scenes like an introduction scene for the game's story and a death scene featuring Danny (which was most likely cut due to Danny's young age), as well as a behind-the-scenes developer commentary, a "theater mode" to watch all of the game's story, a "survivor mode" that will randomly place Augers in the house, and a playable version of "Scene of the Crime", the first prototype of Night Trap created in 1986 to pitch an unreleased console called the Control-Vision to Hasbro.
Dead or Alive 3

Most likely because this game was released as a launch title for the Xbox, it was released in an incomplete state in the North American market in November 2001. As such, the European and Japanese versions of the game, which released a few months later, feature a new opening cutscene as well as extra content and gameplay updates such as new costumes and attacks for certain characters. Between June and September 2002, the Official Xbox Magazine distributed a "Booster Disk" for Dead or Alive 3, which included the new opening cutscene and all of the extra costumes released in the European and Japanese versions of the game. It did not, however, contain the new attacks or gameplay balancing that the other versions brought. This update would later be released as unlockable sync-able content under the name "DOA3 Booster Disc" in Dead or Alive Ultimate upon unlocking every costume in the game.

In the English localization of the game, when Ocelot and Liquid Snake discuss their demands to the president, Ocelot states their demands as including "1 billion dollars" for both the original PlayStation/PC release and the GameCube remake. In the original Japanese release of the PlayStation/PC version, he states it as "50 million dollars". However, for the Japanese release of the GameCube remake, there is no dub of the game's voice lines in Japanese, while the subtitles translated to Japanese still say "1 billion dollars". Whether or not "1 billion dollars" or "50 million dollars" is a mistake in the game's script or was changed for future releases of the game is unknown.

When designing the DLC character Steve from Minecraft, most of the game's stages were redesigned to accommodate for his Mine neutral special move which allows him to farm certain materials on stage-specific surfaces to then use to craft stronger weapons. However, not every surface has been programmed to mine the materials expected to appear from the surface Steve is standing on. The most notable example of this occurs on most of the trees in the game, where they can produce Dirt materials instead of Wood.

According to Sakurai in a Famitsu column, Sephiroth's inclusion as DLC in this game was his attempt to include more villains and/or bosses into the series as fighters, stating that the inclusion of such characters as playable was "rare". For one reason or another, he felt Final Fantasy VII's lead antagonist was an appropriate choice for this. He also stated that his game developing philosophy for these types of characters was that he wanted them to "feel like bosses" when playing as or against them.

Sakurai and his team originally had different plans for a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC character. He tried to include Rex as a playable character alongside Pyra, at first thinking of an Ice Climbers-like system where the player would control both characters at the same time, but this ended up presenting programming problems including one involving the game's memory capacity due to the size of the characters. He then had an idea of making Rex a background character whenever Pyra fights, in a similar manner to the Pokémon Trainer. He eventually felt this second method would also be taxing to the game and that fans would not be fond of it anyway so it was scrapped. He then came up with the idea to have Pyra be a transforming character (similar to how Zelda and Shiek were before Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U) with her turning into Mythra and additionally have Rex appear only in taunts, Final Smashes, and other extraneous details involving the characters.

Attachment During the beginning part of Sephiroth's Supernova Final Smash where everyone turns to the Z-Axis to view Safer Sephiroth, the normally "flat" Mr. Game & Watch can be seen as a 3D model if he is caught in the attack.

The DLC, "Legacy of the First Blade, Shadow Heritage", was the subject of controversy and backlash from the LGBTQ+ community. At the end of the DLC, the player character was forced to be part of a heterosexual relationship, ending with the player character having a child with another character. Many players saw this as a disservice to the LGBTQ+ community, and Ubisoft going back on their commitment of diversity and inclusion within the game. Despite allowing the player to choose their sexuality through multiple romantic encounters throughout the game, the DLC gave no option to decline the relationship, forcing players to engage in the heterosexual relationship. Furthermore, completing this unlocked an achievement titled, "Growing Up". The developers apologized and released a patch for the DLC. In the patch, the ending is still the game, and a baby is born, but the player character is allowed to clarify that they choose to do so to "further their bloodline", and not for romantic reasons. The title of the achievement was also changed to "Blood of Leonidas".

After footage of the game's final boss surfaced from pre-release copies, players expressed concern to the developers that some intense rapidly flashing lights and other visuals during the final boss may cause serious seizures to players that have Photosensitive epilepsy, and in general may be an eyesore to players that are not epileptic. The developers understood and significantly changed the battle effects in a day-one patch that was heavily recommended by Square Enix to be downloaded by future players.
Grand Theft Auto IV

An update released three days before the game's 10th anniversary on April 26th, 2018 added new songs to radio stations, while simultaneously removing songs due to licensing-expiration issues. Among the many song replacements, the Electro-Choc, Fusion, JNR, Massive B, and Tuff Gong radio stations remained untouched, while almost every song featured in the Vladivostok FM station was cut and replaced with new songs with one exception, "Liberty City: The Invasion" by Seryoga, an original song written for the game's soundtrack. These changes also carried over to the Episodes from Liberty City DLC expansions.

The characters Jesus and Buddha were reskinned, without any changes to either one's movesets, into the characters Saint and Zen, respectively, explicitly in response to controversy over the game's depiction of these religious figures.

Attachment One of the random title screen splash messages "Woo, /v/!", a reference to the dedicated video game imageboard "/v/" on website 4chan, was removed from the PC Java version of the game in update ver.1.17 released in 2021. It's unknown why it was removed, neither was it mentioned in the game's official patch notes, but it's presumably due to the controversial nature of the website which Microsoft may wish to distance themselves from.

During the game's early years, the game's creator Markus "Notch" Persson had heavily promoted the game on a number of websites including 4chan, which its success he partly attributed to the website.
