Attachment In 2022, an Easter egg was discovered after one of the game's developers hinted at its existence in the game's Discord fan server. In the Ungard Mines level, when you come to the big bridge, you can turn to the left to find two bags of gold. Pick up the first bag but leave the second bag alone, and then carefully walk to the end of each of the four diagonal support beams holding up the bridge. Afterwards, on the opposite end of the bridge, walk to the end of the carved out rock path on the left side and stand in the corner of the rock wall. If done correctly, the "Use" prompt should appear. After triggering it, you can turn around and see a developer credit written in magical colored lights hanging over the abyss: "J.A WAS HERE". This is in reference to one of the game's designers Jens Anderssen.

Attachment In the very first Japanese release of the game, at the bottom of the well in Corel Prison, a rare debug enemy known as "Test 0" that was accidentally left in the game on its initial release can be randomly encountered. This encounter does not require cheats or hacks to occur, although GameShark codes can be used to access every other debug enemy battle in the game. This battle was removed from all future releases of the game. "The Completely Unauthorized Final Fantasy VII Ultimate Guide" by Versus Books, released in 1997, features an entry on this enemy (note that the HP listing in the guide scan is incorrect; Type 0 has 30000 HP).

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth nods back to this oversight by making Test 0 a legitimate optional encounter in the Beast Battleground. The nature of its presence in the original game is referenced in the enemy's bestiary entry, which describes it as "A test subject that managed to escape Shinra's R&D Division due to a developer's oversight."

Attachment Pikachu and Pichu's Neutral Special, Thunder Jolt, is actually a move taken from and exclusive to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, specifically the Pikachu Card from the very first Base Set. This is true for both the English and Japanese versions of the move, as the same exact name in both languages is used from the card (Thunder Jolt and "Electricity Attack" respectively). This makes Thunder Jolt the only adapted Pokémon Special Move to be directly taken from the TCG, instead of the games or anime.

One of the game's composers Colin Anderson, a life-long fan of progressive rock, had originally planned to include a prog rock radio station called "Ridiculous FM" that played "Regressive Rock", the joke being that it would play a single multi-part prog suite that was longer than any of the other stations in the game on an endless loop. Although this idea was cut from the game due to time constraints and the team feeling it was inappropriate for the game's setting, Anderson would regularly think about what the song would have been like until 2015, when he completed it with the help of several consultants and recorded it with the aid of vocalists and a live drummer. The final product, a 20 minute 16-part song called "YTZ", was released under the name Aori, a duo with Anderson and singer/lyricist Neil Horsburgh. "Aori" was previously the title of a song also written and released by Anderson under the name Ashtar that was featured on the Radio '76 FM station in Grand Theft Auto. Additionally, the song title "YTZ" is a reference to the instrumental "YYZ" by the prog band Rush; both names are airport identification codes used by airports in Toronto, Canada, and both songs feature Morse code messages spelling their respective song titles.

Attachment Bayonetta's shadow is not of herself, but of the demon Madama Butterfly, who she made a pact with and is the source of her attacks. This is most likely a reference to Devil May Cry, where Dante's costume while playing on The Legendary Dark Knight mode, which is of the demon Sparda's human form, casts the shadow of Sparda's demon form when not in Devil Trigger mode.

Attachment In Room 209 of Blue Creek Apartments, there is a pre-determined once-per-playthrough chance of hearing a whisper after walking into the room. For years, it was unknown what this whisper was saying with fans who analyzed the audio clip speculating that it had to do with Spoiler:James reflecting on killing his wife Mary and leaving her body in his car at the beginning of the game, while one of the game's English localizers Jeremy Blaustein believed that it was a clip of one of the English voice actors practicing their lines in the sound booth, and was mistakenly added in by the Japanese developers who would not have known what it meant otherwise as it was unscripted. However, it was discovered in 2015 that the whisper was actually a snippet of a pre-existing stock sound effect of a man whispering gibberish.
