Attachment Elora was originally going to be a centaur, but the character designer, Oliver Wade, decided she would be better as a faun, and cut out the two back legs. Attachment Although the game's localization was handled by Funimation instead of 4kids, Mihawk was still edited to remove Christian symbols. The arms of his cross necklace were removed, leaving it an "I" shape, and the arms of his sword were shortened to reduce its resemblance to a cross.

Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition

Among the NPC Pokémon trades in the game's data are three trades not assigned to any NPC, and thus inaccessible. One of them, a Beedrill in exchange for a Butterfree, exists in the data of every first-generation title. The nickname of the Beedrill even changed from version to version, but the trade remained unused.

Pokémon Yellow replaced two functioning trades with unused ones. One requests a Pidgeot for a Pidgeot, and the other is a Mew for a Mew. In Japan, both are nicknamed Matsumiya, presumably after Toshinobu Matsumiya, who was in charge of Yellow's scenario. In the English version, the Pidgeot is named MARTY and the Mew is named BART.

Attachment The Japanese band "Dreams Come True" are credited with composing the game's entire soundtrack. To promote their first tour, the band had concert posters with Sonic the Hedgehog on them, and painted Sonic on the side of their tour bus.

Several debugging features were left in the game, and can be accessed by holding certain buttons on a second controller. Holding right will dramatically the height of Mega Man's jumps, and also protect him from "bottomless" pits. Holding up will slow down the game's animations, and holding A as well as up will pause them completely.
