Sonic the Hedgehog

Despite going through the same parts of Flame Core at the same time, Sonic and Shadow are not playable in each other's episodes. However, there are unused sound files that suggest that they were going to team up, with Shadow driving a vehicle while Sonic takes out enemies.

The character of Zack was partially based on that of retired professional basketball player Dennis Rodman, famous for his antics and dyed green hair. Rodman voices the character of Zack in the English versions of this game.
Psychonauts

Psychonauts was originally intended to be an Xbox exclusive at the request of Ed Fries, then vice president of game publishing at Microsoft, to give the console's library an artistic flair. When Ed left Microsoft in 2004, however, the company lost interest and the game went multi-platform.
Final Fantasy II

Final Fantasy 2 was planned to be released to the USA around 1991 as "Final Fantasy 2: Dark Shadows over Palakia". The game was ultimately never localized due to the approaching release of the SNES.
Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors

There is evidence in the code of the arcade version that the two boss characters, Huitzil and Pyron, may have been planned as playable at one stage of development. There is an alternate color scheme for both of the characters that shows up if you are playing a mirror match, both characters are able to be played in Arcade mode though hacking (though Pyron can't fight the final boss due to a bug), both of the characters have their own endings, which are the exact same as their endings in the sequel, "Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge", though in a more unfinished state with the ending text just repeating "A" and the music not playing like it should.

The game originally started out as a Universal movie monsters fighting game, which would use the Street Fighter II engine. Though the final game still uses the engine, Universal did not want to license the monsters out, meaning the development team had to make completely new characters, which producer Alex Jimenez said took him about an hour to do.

Attachment "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was originally going to be an official playable wrestler, and would have featured his Wrestlemania 1 and 2 matches in the "30 Years of Wrestlemania" mode. However, 2K could not reach an agreement with Mr. T, who faced Piper in these matches, to feature him in the game, so neither were officially playable in the game. However, all of Piper's logos can be found in the WWE logos section, and Roddy Piper's face/body are selectable in WWE Faces mode.

There are two versions of the boss "Junior". In the arcade machine is a switch that will change the boss of the Freak Show from a big baby to a gigantic teddy bear named Deaddy. It's likely that the switch was added to avoid complaints from parents regarding the shooting of an infant child.
Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo was originally planned as a Mac exclusive, and was also an RTS similar to Myth, a previous game by Bungie, and later unveiled at Macworld as a third-person shooter. This was until Microsoft bought Bungie in 2000. The game was also considered for release prior on the PlayStation 2 until the partnership with Take 2 ended.

Attachment The Xbox controller was redesigned to appeal to Japanese gamers because Microsoft had trouble selling the Xbox to a Japanese audience. In the end Microsoft came up with the Controller S, an Xbox controller which was more compact and attractive to the Japanese demographic. This design would eventually be adopted in America as well, and a decade later became the standard.

Attachment A special version of the game called Space Invasion was made and released specifically for West Germany. The only differences made other than the title were the changing of the human soldiers into robots.

Inside this window is a small shrine with a memorial for Miika Forssell, a developer who died during the development of the game.

Attachment Despite the game featuring new scenes by actor Anthony Ainley as the Master and original dialogue recorded by a couple of the Doctors, they weren't able to record anything new for the aliens and monsters. Gary Russell, the game's writer and future show script editor, had to search for sound bites from old episodes which they were able to use.

Attachment At any point during the game, typing "Facepunch" will turn all of the textures in game into a drawing of a red smiling face. This drawing is the logo for the website Facepunch, where the developer Galactic Cafe announced the game.
