During gameplay in Sonic Riders and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Eggman's voice lines use a mix of new lines by Mike Pollock, and Deem Bristow's voice recordings recycled from the earlier Sonic Adventure games and Sonic Heroes. During story cutscenes in both games, he is voiced by just Mike Pollock.

A version of Sonic Riders was also being developed for the Game Boy Advance by Backbone Entertainment, but SEGA wanted to make the game "more 3D", resulting in the GBA version being scrapped entirely.

The Windows PC version is an exact port of the Xbox version of the game. Because of this, many of the bugs that exists on the Xbox version were carried over to the PC port. One of the bugs that would occur happens whenever a non-CG cutscene would play. All the character’s that appeared in these cutscenes would have their eyes stay fixed in a forward looking position instead of moving around. This bug does not appear in the PlayStation 2 or GameCube versions of the game.

In one cutscene, Wave berates Jet with sped up, high-pitched dialogue. Slowing down this dialogue reveals that it's comprised of recycled Japanese voice clips of most of Wave's dialogue up to that point in the game.

The international logo for the game contains a tiny vectoring error at the bottom of the first "R" of "Riders". This mistake can't be seen on the title screen due to the lower resolution used, but it can barely be seen on the cover art for differing releases of the game.
