Franchise: Pokémon
1
Charmander is only able to learn Metal Claw by leveling up in FireRed and LeafGreen, at level 13. In later generations, the move is only available to the Charmander line through breeding. It's likely that Charmander was given this move to ameliorate the comparative early disadvantage of picking the fire-type starter in Red and Green, when faced with the Pewter Gym and Mt. Moon, which contain many Pokémon strong against fire-type Pokémon.

Attachment When selecting the Famicom and NES color schemes for R.O.B., the stickers on their base change to reflect their real-life counterparts. The decal for the Japanese Famicom R.O.B. reads "Family Computer Robot", while the decal for the North American NES R.O.B. reads "Robotic Operating Buddy".

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, these regional color schemes based on R.O.B.'s original models for the Famicom and NES are made his default palette depending on if you are playing the Japanese or International versions of the games respectively.

In the Japanese release, Edward and Golbez are named Gilbert and Golbeza. This was changed when being brought over to the US due to playable characters only being able to have 6 letters in their name.
Sonic Adventure
1
In the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure, you can explore under the deep water in the Egg Carrier Chao Garden. Under the water lies a secret ring far out of reach. This was removed in the DX update, because the depth of the water was reduced, probably to prevent Chao from swimming out of reach and getting stuck in the terrain.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
1
There are unused files for the M249E2 SAW which was originally intended to be included in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but was never actually in it. They can be found in the PS2 version.
LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge
1
In the PC version of the game, after obtaining 100% completion, it's possible to open a portal on the side of Space Mountain where a cave can be seen. To open the portal, the player must type in the code "sdreams". Inside the portal are LEGO Minifigure versions of most of the development team that worked on the game at Silicon Dreams.
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody
subdirectory_arrow_right Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (Game)
1
Attachment The Gamecube version of Magical Melody gives the player an option to begin the game as either a girl or a boy.
This gameplay feature was removed from the Wii port, so that only the male protagonist is playable. Any reference to the female protagonist was also removed from the cover art.
Street Fighter II
1
In the Japanese versions of Street Fighter 2, advice is given to the player on the continue screen. The developers originally considered having a mysterious old man give the advice, but never decided on a design for him, and so the idea was dropped.
RoboCop 2
1
Attachment In the U.S and European arcade version, the game starts off in the street, stopping a crime at a gun shop. However, the Japanese arcade version has an extra cutscene at the beginning that summarizes the events of the first film and lets you play its final moments.
Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know!
1
In the European release of the game, Flame Princess had her dialogue censored during the cutscene in which she is first met. In the US release, she calls Princess Bubblegum a "tart", but this was cut from all versions in Europe.
WWF No Mercy
1
It was originally intended for the game to have Transfer Pak functionality, allowing the player to take their created wrestler in the Game Boy Color version and place him into the Nintendo 64 version. The Game Boy version was cancelled, but the menu can still be accessed using Gameshark codes.
WWF Raw
1
There is an unused character found in the SNES version's data named "??Mystery??". He appears to be a placeholder for a 13th wrestler who wasn't finished. His sprites are borrowed from Shawn Michaels, but the palette used gives him grey hair and boots, pale skin, and black pants; and when performing certain moves, his sprites change to Bret Hart. He also lacks a finishing move, a theme song, portraits and a biography on the wrestler selection screen, and graphics for the Titantron that appears when winning a match. The Genesis version contains a variation, but this one resembles Razor Ramon.
F-Zero X
1
The game was released 3 months late in the U.S. due to Nintendo's policy of attempting to release first party Nintendo games evenly spaced out throughout the year.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters
1
Attachment Aska is wearing a thong as part of her leotard in the Japanese release. These were changed to shorts in all other releases. For her victory pose, in the Japanese version she spins, then thrusts out her chest, causing her breasts to bounce. Internationally, she simply folds her arms.
Final Fantasy VII
2
Both Ruby and Emerald WEAPON were not in the original Japanese version of the game. They were added later for the international versions of the game.
Platform: Nintendo 64
1
Nintendo removed the Nintendo 64's ability to use RGB output (SCART/Component), but earlier versions of the console still have the ability to do so. An RGB signal can be achieved on the N64 by simply jumping a few wires on the motherboard and adding a few more electronic components.

An orchestral version of Sweet Home's battle theme was used in a Japanese trailer for the original Resident Evil.
