The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
1
Attachment Morrowind's data files contain a number of test rooms that can be accessed using the game console. The rooms include "Character Stuff Wonderland", "Clutter Warehouse - Everything Must Go!", "Draugr Test" (in BloodMoon), "ken's test hole", "Mark's Script Testing Cell" (in BloodMoon), "Mark's Vampire Test Cell", "Redoran Test", "Redoran Test 2", and "ToddTest".

Many of these rooms have self-explanatory purposes, although a few have noteworthy attractions in them. The "Clutter Warehouse - Everything Must Go!" room has two strange NPCs in it: Lord Cluttermonkey, who is an Argonian in Daedric armor who has a mace called Clutterbane, and the Used Clutter Salesman, a Bosmer dressed in exquisite clothes who has a Daedric warhammer.

This is a reference to Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, in which Luke Skywalker is knocked out and captured by a wampa on Hoth. When he awakens several hours later, he finds himself hanging by his feet from the ceiling with his lightsaber in the snow below him.

In Jobasha's Rare Books, located in the Lower Waistworks of the Foreign Quarter in Vivec, there is a potted plant that has actually been named "Charles the Plant". The plant also holds an alchemy ingredient called Meteor Slime. This is a reference to two plants from Maniac Mansion, the first being "Chuck the Plant" who also appears in various other LucasArts games, and the second being the man-eating plant that the player can feed a meteor to.

GoldenEye 007
1
During a speech made in 2004, Martin Hollis from Rare revealed that GoldenEye 007 was expected to fail miserably upon launch, after a poor reception at E3. Not only was the game a first-person shooter on a console system (unheard of at the time), it was also a movie license (which were frequently garbage) and was being released over two years after the actual movie came out. The game went on to become the best-selling game on the N64, beating Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, and Ocarina of Time.

Platform: Wii
1
The idea of having a speaker built into the Wii Remote came from game developer Yoot Saito (credited for the games Odama and Seaman) when he mentioned that the controller could ring like a phone or make noise along those lines. Many of the development teams thought they could make good use of it, and it was deemed worth the cost of including it in the Wii Remote.

In the in-game book called "No-h's Picture Book of Wood", it states that the last page of the book has the words "Boat Ack" scrawled about the margin in a vandalistic manner. This is a reference to the late Kurt Cobain, as in his teen years he enraged a neighbor by vandalizing a boat by painting the words "Boat Ack" on the side of it. The in-game book itself is rare and is found in only two locations, with one of them being on a boat called "Falvillo's Endeavor", which is docked near Vos.

Attachment There is a metal wing texture in the game for combining the Wing Cap and Metal Cap, similar to how the Vanish Cap and Metal Cap can be combined in Dire Dire Docks. There are no levels in the game where it would be possible to equip both simultaneously, but they do function and use this texture if given to Mario via hacking.
Halo: Combat Evolved
1
When Halo was changed to a first-person shooter, Microsoft suggested adding "Combat Evolved" to the title to make it more descriptive, like the military games they were competing with.

The compromise was they could add a subtitle. Everyone at Bungie hated it. But it turned out to be a very sticky label and has now entered the gaming lexicon to the point where articles that have nothing to do with Halo get titles like 'Skateboarding Evolved'. So I guess in hindsight it was a good compromise. -- Jaime Griesemer

It's possible to place a bed in The End. However, as the developers didn't want the player to sleep in The End, beds will explode when placed. It's possible to actually defeat the Enderdragon with precise placing of beds. Upon exploding, they will injure the Enderdragon with very high damage if it is close by.

During the development of Beta 1.7, Mojang was considering adding spike blocks that would function like a piston, except with spikes instead of a flat piston head. They instead decided to add sticky pistons that could pull blocks, and make spike blocks into a static block that could simply be pushed and pulled with the sticky pistons instead. Sticky pistons were implemented, but they couldn't decide how they wanted spike blocks to look or function.
Rayman Legends
1
Attachment A leaked trailer for Rayman Legends suggested that it would feature special Near-Field Communication functionality on the Wii U, allowing new gameplay opportunities by placing certain objects on the controller. Ubisoft later confirmed that this trailer was merely demonstrative and consisted of prototype material intended only for their internal production teams, and did not represent what features the final game would have.
