During the E3 2004 demo of the game, DK shouted a basic howl after defeating a boss, rather than the one heard in the final game which fluctuates in tone.

The build of the game shown at E3 2004 used Grant Kirkhope's voice samples of Donkey Kong. In the final game he was voiced by Takashi Nagasako.
