Attachment The title card for the "Gnome Forest" level became the subject of the "Lario" meme, which features an edited version of the card with the word "Lario" above the characters' heads as a mash-up of "Sneaky Snitch" by Kevin MacLeod and "Superstar" by Young Thug. This meme would go on to be referenced within Pizza Tower itself, with Gnome Forest's secret music being renamed "Everybody Wants To Be A Secret" after the meme became popular.

Attachment Found on one of the movie theater marquees is the message "Maddie, Will You Marry Me?" This was an Easter egg included in the game at the request of fan Tyler Schultz who tweeted out to Insomniac asking them for help with his marriage proposal to his then girlfriend of 5 years Madison Gamble ("Maddie" for short) by including the message somewhere in-game. However, by the time the game had released, Gamble had broken up with him with Schultz explaining what had happened. Insomniac had offered to patch out the message but Schultz requested to keep it in as a reminder for "the almost mistake that I made." adding that his girlfriend told him "that the video game message wasn’t the way she wanted to be proposed to, either."

Gamble would later say in a statement that she never even liked video games and only tolerated them because of Schultz. She claimed that she broke up with Schultz due to his behavior and gave him a month to change but to no avail.

Attachment In all versions of the game there is a secret passage in Cafe HOWDY!/Pub Lali-Ho in the Dwarven Castle of the Underworld that leads to a place called the "Developer's Room". In it are recolored sprites that are meant to be the developers of the game. In the DS release, it has the developers of the DS remake instead. This area was cut in "Final Fantasy 4 Easy-Type" and "Final Fantasy 2 (US)" because it's possible to find a pornographic magazine in the room, called Lustful Lali-Ho.

According to the Archie comics, Sonic the Hedgehog's real name was originally "Olgilvie Maurice Hedgehog", and was meant to act as a part of a never-used plot. However, due to one of the comic writers leaving the staff, this concept was never touched upon, and was eventually retconned as Sonic legally changing his name at an early age, leaving his actual first name a mystery.

This would later be referenced years later, where the Netflix description for the animated series "Sonic Prime" claimed that Sonic's middle name was Maurice.

Attachment If you insert the PlayStation or PC versions of the game into a CD player, or play the Sega Saturn version's disc in the console's music player, you can access a hidden song on track 6 titled "Motty's Rap". The song consists of humorous phrases recorded by longtime FIFA commentator John Motson that mostly comment on the song's techno/rock instrumental with some mild innuendos, including: "That is the fattest bottom end I've ever heard" and "This reminds me of touring with the Sex Pistols". The song was the work of EA composer/audio designer Robert Bailey, who got Motson to record lines for the song during his time in the recording booth. In a 2024 interview, Bailey stated that the song was one of many obscure Easter eggs involving Motson's dialogue that the developers put together, with "Motty's Rap" being pulled from "just all of the stupidest phrases John said" and were put into the context of the music. The song was approved to be put into the game by its executive producer Bruce McMillan.

According to global community director Marcin Momot and senior PR manager Marta Piwońska, this picture was taken at an annual company picnic on CD Projekt RED's 20th anniversary in 2022.
