Mother
1
In the English prototype of Mother, some of the characters were redesigned, possibly to avoid resembling characters from Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic strip. One NPC character was given pigtails to reduce her resemblance to Marcy, Peppermint Patty's best friend, and the dust cloud was removed from an NPC that looked like "Pigpen". Ninten's mom was also given a different hairstyle, possibly because it resembled Sally Brown, Charlie Brown's sister. Ironically, Ninten's shirt was given a stripe, which made him look similar to Charlie Brown.

Genocide City Zone is a scrapped level from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It was meant to be a single act but ultimately became Metropolis Zone Act 3. Attachment There is a hidden audio track message warning the player to not play the disc in a audio CD player. The warning is a small skit between Richter and Maria. Though only in Japanese, it seems that Maria initially scares Richter and Maria then warns him to not put the disc into an audio CD player. Richter questions why she knows all this before seeing she's been reading off of a piece of paper. Richter then warns people to turn down their speakers as it may blow them out before the disc goes onto track 2. A similar audio track is present on the disc Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Attachment In Japan, there were toy PETs that let you fight Viruses using actual Battle Chips. Because these devices never caught on outside of Japan, certain features involving them were removed from international versions of the Battle Network games. One such example is the Beast Link Gate, which would let Japanese players use their physical Battle Chips in the game. There is even a title screen icon that is impossible to attain without using a collection of real-life Chips.
