The design of the bad guy, Evil Otto, is based on the smiley face made popular in the 1960's. The developer, Alan McNeil, despised the image, because he felt it depicted a kind of "fake friendliness" he associated with businesses and salesmen. He made Evil Otto into a Smiley just to add a little sarcasm to the game, imagining the tagline "Have a Nice Day!", which frequently accompanied the smiley face, as here meaning "Have a Nice Day while I beat you to death."

Evil Otto's name, however, comes from the security manager at Alan McNeil's previous employer, Dave Nutting Associates: Dave Otto. Nobody at DNA liked Dave Otto, because he instituted strange and annoying policies, which Alan collectively described as "you are all guilty until proven innocent".
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
1
Development on The Lost Frontier started at Naughty Dog, being worked on by a second team that was created after finishing Jak X: Combat Racing. However, with both teams developing for new consoles (the PS3 and PSP), most of their time and effort was spent learning the hardware and writing new tools, with very little progress being made on the games themselves. People within the company began to get frustrated, and many quit. With the studio rapidly losing developers, it was decided that one of the projects would have to be dropped and the two teams consolidated for the studio to survive. The Lost Frontier was given to High Impact Games to finish, and Naughty Dog put their whole team on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Epic Mickey
1
According to Warren Spector, there were originally three different designs for Mickey, with his appearance changing based on whether the player made heroic or mischievous choices. The designs were based off different eras of Mickey Mouse cartoons. Hero Mickey was based on his old movie posters, Wasterlander was based on 1930s vintage Mickey, and Scrapper was inspired by the early black and white Mickey cartoons (along with the 1995 Mickey Mouse short 'Runaway Brain').
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Zack is the only Final Fantasy character to appear in the game. Other Final Fantasy characters were originally planned to appear but Tetsuya Nomura thought that they would have made the story go too far off track.

Zack was chosen to be the only Final Fantasy character due to the fact the development team wanted a character that was from the past to fit with the prequel story.

Attachment Jill's first encounter with a zombie is when she finds one eating Kenneth Sullivan's corpse, near the beginning of the game. However, the scene will play out differently if the player returns to the lobby before encountering the zombie. The first time they leave the dining room, Wesker will tell Jill to go back. The second time, Barry will stop Jill from leaving, and then the zombie will burst into the room. If the player then visits the room with Kenneth's body, his legs will also be missing. This alternate scene is present in the director's cut but not in the 2002 remake.
