NHL 13

Shortly after the game's release, players discovered a glitch where when a tall hockey player comes into contact with a shorter one, the shorter one will be sent flying into the stadium. Dubbed the "Hercules Check" by fans, EA later replicated it in real life with a YouTube video shortly after it was discovered.

An EA representative explained in the video that the game, as well as the "glitch" itself, was made to bring "authenticity" and "real-time physics" to the game, suggesting that the "glitch" may have been intentional.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Attachment During the beginning part of Sephiroth's Supernova Final Smash where everyone turns to the Z-Axis to view Safer Sephiroth, the normally "flat" Mr. Game & Watch can be seen as a 3D model if he is caught in the attack.

In Chapter 1: New Arrivals, when playing on a completed save, if the player breaks the light air vent on the left side from a different room from the Flight Lounge, a Necromorph will suddenly appear, but will not trigger a cutscene, causing the game to glitch and allowing Isaac to humorously lead the Necromorph around the Flight Lounge as the crew does not notice the intruder.

When Sonic or Knuckles reaches the goal as Super Sonic/Knuckles, they revert back to their original form. The player can transform into Super Sonic/Knuckles again in a brief window of time before the Act Clear results screen appears, but this causes a glitch forcing Sonic/Knuckles to quickly revert to their original form, trapping them in midair in an endless walking cycle as the current stage's music continues to loop, and leaving you stuck without advancing to the next stage as the Act Clear results screen will not appear.

This glitch can also be performed after finishing a fight with Dr. Robotnik, when the player frees the Animals from the Capsule and then transforms into Super Sonic/Knuckles immediately after. You will still be trapped in midair, but unlike regular Acts, the Act Clear results screen will appear and allow you to advance to the next stage normally.

In an emulator, spawning a Goomba and moving it in the path of a jumping Cheep Cheep will normally cause the Cheep Cheep to hit and kill the Goomba, despite these two enemies never normally encountering each other in the game. However, in World 1-1, spawning a Giant Tail Goomba in front of the rivers at the start of the level to try and get the Cheep Cheep to kill it will instead cause the Tail Goomba to fly off-screen as it has a preset path it travels and attacks on instead of just following Mario/Luigi wherever he walks. Off-screen, it will perform its Tail Swing attack that will mysteriously cause the level itself to take damage, effectively "killing it" and forcing the level to erase almost its entire memory and be collected as one coin, including Mario/Luigi. The game then disables you from quitting or restarting the level.
Batman: Arkham Knight

If the player detonates explosive gel inside Penguin's vault, the stack of bombs turns into an unused destroyed Titan canister model that appears to have been carried over from Batman: Arkham City, although it is impossible to go back inside the vault to interact with it.

In Cianwood City, if you have only one Pokemon in your team and it does not know Fly or Surf, a generous Trainer in the island's Pokemon Center will give you a Level 15 Tentacool, claiming to have caught too many and was just about to release it before he noticed your situation. This was added to prevent the player from softlocking the game in Cianwood City by giving the player a Pokemon that can learn the Surf HM in order to leave. Additionally, it is possible for the Tentacool given to you to be Shiny.

On the Xbox 360 version of the game, going to the Food Court while playing on Infinity Mode from 4:05:00 to 4:23:59 will freeze the game on the loading screen, rendering both the 5 Day and 7 Day Survivor achievements unobtainable. This glitch was patched in an update for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC remastered ports.

Jak II

Attachment There is a glitch whenever Jak walks in front of a mirror that causes a slightly different model of Jak with dark grey horns to appear alongside the "reflected" second model of the room, initially suggesting that Jak was used as a test model for shaping Dark Jak's horns. However, a 2003 promotional contest advertisement hosted by Cartoon Network's programming block Toonami features a higher resolution model of Jak with white horns instead, suggesting that the model sent to Cartoon Network still had the horns on them and they just altered the model for the advertisement, or that Jak was originally supposed to have visible horns like Dark Jak.

If timed correctly, it's possible to shoot a horse with ice arrows and have it keep the "frozen" texture that covers its body when Link drowns in deep water from having no stamina immediately afterwards. When Link respawns, the player can find the frozen horse in motion and can ride it like a normal horse, however putting the horse in a stable returns it to normal.

Attachment In the game's North American manual under the "Even More Sonic Super Play Tips" section, the last tip subtly addresses how to deal with glitches resulting from running too fast by branding them as "diabolical traps" set by Dr. Robotnik that "take advantage of Sonic's ultra-fast speed".
GoldenEye 007
1
The version of GoldenEye 007 that was released was technically a ROM hack of the version submitted to Nintendo for final certification. While the game was undergoing said last-minute testing, an issue was discovered with the game's memory that caused glitches in the textures featured in the Frigate level. To combat this, programmer Mark Edmonds wrote a tool to extract the game's code and data from the ROM, adjusted the hex values in the game's memory to improve the performance in the level, recompressed it, and directly added it back into the ROM image without recompiling. This version was sent back to Nintendo and certified for release as the final version of the game.

The maximum speed the trucks cap off at when driving in reverse amounts to 12.3 undecillion miles per hour (for perspective, this number is 1.8341329e+28 times the speed of light), because no upper limit was implemented by the developers to cap off the speed for driving in reverse at a more realistic limit. After this speed is reached, the speedometer displays a value of -001.$ and causes you to win the race despite having driven in reverse practically infinitely. This is because as a truck travels faster in reverse, it will gradually travel along more of the surface area of the race track until it covers every pixel on the map simultaneously including all of the race track's checkpoints, meaning that the truck won the race because it was everywhere at once.

In May 2020, a Japanese livestreamer began a lengthy series using his two pet Siamese fighting fish to play through Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire using a system involving several programs connected to the game's emulator. These programs rely on a webcam to track the fish's movements and determine what actions to perform by where it swims over a map placed behind the fish tank, so wherever the fish swims, it blocks a map square with a picture of a controller input on it and the system performs said input in-game.

On October 3, 2020, during a stream playing through Pokemon Sapphire, one of the fish named Mutekimaru was working on a boulder puzzle in the Seafloor Cavern on Route 128 when it performed a glitch that appeared to have not been widely known in the past. The fish used Strength on a boulder, which moved it and additionally created a duplicate boulder in its place, soft-locking the puzzle until the room is reset. The streamer later figured out how to trigger the glitch himself, and uploaded a step-by-step guide to YouTube on how to perform it.
Grand Theft Auto

In an interview with DMA Design creative director Gary Penn in 2011, he revealed that the police in the game turned out the way they did because of a supposed bug where police cars in pursuit tried to ram through the center of the player's car rather than a specific side, causing their driving to become extremely aggressive and seemingly insane. Penn cited this as the point in Grand Theft Auto's development where it stopped being boring to the developers and became more "dramatic", and they started to focus on general play and "being able to piss around" more than the game's missions.
Shrek

In the "Extra Large" re-release of the game for the Nintendo GameCube, if you manage to get out of bounds and fall into the void, Shrek will be teleported to a dimly-lit area that is an exact replica of the inside of a Nintendo GameCube. Once inside, all cheats become disabled, and the player cannot escape. Even the pause menu is disabled, meaning the game is soft-locked and the only solution is to reset the GameCube.

The first boss in the game, the Stinger, has a simple way to be skipped entirely. To do this, the player must run up to the Stinger and drop an item in front of it, then turn around and wait for the boss to lunge at them. If the player picks up the item they just dropped at the right time, they’ll become invulnerable, and the scorpion’s attack will go straight through them. The player can then back out of the menu and simply run past the Stinger to safety.

The ZX Spectrum port (released as Great Gurianos on all home computer platforms) was intentionally unbeatable with the final boss made invincible. According to the port's programmer, David Perry, this was done due to there being no memory left in the game to include an ending.
