Attachment Eely-Mouth, the giant eel boss in Noki City, has an esophagus and stomach modeled with a significant amount of polygons. However, the game's camera never travels inside the eel at any point during the boss battle, leaving its detailed innards unseen during normal gameplay.

The original arcade release of The Idolmaster had several bad endings that were allegedly received by the first location play-testers so negatively that they were immediately taken out of the game. These endings are referred to as Death endings or "Z-ENDs" which can only be seen by earning a Z grade in the evaluation of an idol's performance, and involve the idols having a final meeting with the player to tell them they are giving up. The tone of each conversation varies with some idols frustratingly yelling at the player, while others will appear severely depressed.

The existence of these endings were considered an urban legend among the game's fans until 2014, when a volunteer for the now defunct fan localization website TLWiki found all of the intact Z-ENDs hidden in the data of the game's PlayStation Portable port The Idolmaster SP, and were later uploaded to Niconico. These endings were uploaded without an English translation, though archived text translations of every Z-END by TLWiki are available and included in the self-source tab.

Attachment The Whomp King, the boss of the Throwback Galaxy, will recite his original speech from his first encounter with Mario at Whomp's Fortress in Super Mario 64. If you lose the fight and then try again, he will start to recite the speech again, and then stop himself declaring he's tired of it. Excluding Bowser and Bowser Jr., the Whomp King is the only standard boss in the game with dialogue. When you deal the final blow to the Whomp King, he makes a unique face that cannot be seen normally because he is lying down when defeated.

The mini-fridge in Travis' room at Motel "NO MORE HEROES" can be used to heal him, even though it's impossible to lose health outside of ranking matches and assassination gigs and Travis' health is always restored after completing or failing a gig. Both the game and its instruction manual still point out this feature regardless. This suggests that there were either plans for enemies to appear in the overworld of Santa Destroy that could harm Travis outside of his missions, or it was implemented purely for creative effect.

Attachment The Sage Job introduced in the Endwalker expansion pack had its icon changed prior to the expansion's release due to player feedback. Originally it featured holes in the nouliths represented on the icon, however due to concern from players who suffer from trypophobia, a phobia towards clusters of small holes or bumps, the game's director Naoki Yoshida felt compelled to have the holes filled to ensure all players felt comfortable in the game.

In an update released in July 2021, scenes featuring the player harming or killing themselves were removed entirely, despite having an option of skipping them. The reason according to the developers was due to the scenes being considered sensitive for current times. In a blog post, the development team explained about the change that "considering the sensitive time we're living in, we can do better than that. You deserve better. All scenes alluding to self-harm are now completely removed from the game. These scenes have no place in Superhot Virtual Reality. We regret it took us so long."

The update immediately received backlash from the player base who considered the scenes integral to the game's story and called the move by the developers as "virtue signalling," In repose, the game's Steam page was review bombed with overwhelmingly negative ratings and reviews with Steam attempting to combat it.

Attachment Two unused sprites in the SNES version of the game are demonic parodies of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, likely intended for the Tokyo Destinyland theme park, based on the real-life Tokyo Disneyland park.

In the PC Engine release of the game, two much less similar-looking parodies of the characters appear in Tokyo Destinyland as NPCs under the names "Zombie Mouse" and "Demon Duck", possibly as a workaround to copyright issues with The Walt Disney Company due to parodies not falling under fair use in Japanese copyright law.

Attachment One of the random title screen splash messages "Woo, /v/!", a reference to the dedicated video game imageboard "/v/" on website 4chan, was removed from the PC Java version of the game in update ver.1.17 released in 2021. It's unknown why it was removed, neither was it mentioned in the game's official patch notes, but it's presumably due to the controversial nature of the website which Microsoft may wish to distance themselves from.

During the game's early years, the game's creator Markus "Notch" Persson had heavily promoted the game on a number of websites including 4chan, which its success he partly attributed to the website.

Attachment Concept art featured in early design documents of the first Kingdom Hearts game shows a world clearly based on Disney-Pixar's Toy Story franchise that, for reasons that have not officially been stated, does not appear in the final release. A Toy Story world would, however, appear in Kingdom Hearts III

Upon first entering the Market District, a notice will appear on the screen reading "New Topic: Do you need couriers?". However, this topic cannot be discussed with any NPCs. This may be a leftover from a scrapped quest or questline in which the player would deliver letters to NPCs. The string of text's file name is "ImpExWork", with "ImpExDeliveredLetter" and "ImpExGiveLetter" also existing in the game's files.

The game files reveal that High Elves were originally supposed to be 50 points vulnerable to Fire, Frost, Shock, and Magic. In the final game, they only have a 25 points vulnerability, with no general vulnerability to Magic.

An unused "Darkness" spell exists in the files, but ultimately goes unused. It acts oppositely to the "Light" spells in the game, making an area darker (most likely to make it easier to sneak and remain undetected). Similar to the unused "Lock" spell it contains many "DO NOT USE" warnings.

An unused "Lock" spell exists in the files (as well as Easy Lock and Average Lock), but it goes unused in the final game. It would have locked containers and doors. The files include several warnings which read "DO NOT USE". "Lock" existed as a spell in TES III: Morrowind.

In "The Siren's Deception", the player would have only been fought by 2 of the women in Gweden Farm, with the third, Faustina, fleeing to the basement. There, the player would have had multiple dialogue options with her, and ultimately been able to spare her. In the final game, you must fight all 3 women on the first floor with no option to spare any of them. These lines were found in the German version of the game.

There are unused lockpicking animations for NPCs that would have been used when NPCs lockpick locked chests or doors. This is a rare occurrence in-game and when it happens, the NPCs simply use the "activate" animation. There exists animations for locked chests on the ground as well as doors.

There is unused dialogue for Elven, Nord, Breton, and Redguard city guards that go unused due to all city guards being Imperials. The only exception to this being quest specific NPCs who are city guards of a race other than Imperial.

Horses were originally meant to be purchased through an in-game menu like other items in the game. In the final game, they are purchase through dialogue options. There exist unused lines for these purchases, "Need a new mount?" and "Looking to buy a horse? I have some fine animals for sale."
