The Stanley Parable
1
At the beginning of the game, while the the narrator is telling the player to go to the meeting room, it is possible to look through a window and see an unnamed man walking down a hallway, if the player moves quickly. It is unknown who this man is, but it is believed to be either a fellow co-worker, or Stanley himself.

Attachment North from Seyda Neen, there is an unique encounter in which a Bosmer wizard named Tarhiel will fall from the sky and crash in front of the player, dying from the impact. He holds three Scrolls of Icarian Flight, which temporarily boost the Acrobatics skill by 1000 points, for just 7 seconds. His journal, which mentions him testing them out as an experiment, lies next to his body.

"Icarian" refers to the greek mythological figure Icarus, who shared a similar fate. Whereas Icarus flew too close to the sun and fell as a result, Tarhiel forgot to take the landing from great heights into account. It is, however, possible to save him by casting a large-area Slowfall spell, but his only dialogue is "I don't want to talk about it", suggesting he is too embarrassed by his failure.

The name "Tarhiel" is also a reference, to the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, and his game id (agronian guy) refers to North Carolina's top Agronomy program.
Karateka

The Atari 7200 port contains text hidden in the game's coding, which reads "MOMMY AND ME ARE ONE." This text is a paraphrasing of a 1985 experiment on the effects of subliminal messages on the unconscious mind, where the phrase "Mommy and I are one" was allegedly effective at raising self-motivation.
Earthworm Jim
subdirectory_arrow_right Earthworm Jim: Special Edition (Game)
1
Attachment On the Sega CD Special Edition release, there are several codes that will change Jim's head. One of these alternate heads appears to be Donkey Kong's with an arrow through it. This was a stab at the wildly popular Donkey Kong Country, which was perceived as overshadowing the release of Earthworm Jim, despite being released several months later.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
1
Attachment The achievement/trophy "Heisenberg" requires the player to defeat the Meth Tweekers while wearing the Evil Cartman goatee and the bald cap. This is a reference to the TV series Breaking Bad.
Fallout 3

Attachment Sally from the Mothership Zeta DLC makes references to a fictional pre-war show called 'Captain Cosmos', which itself features classic Star Trek references, such as "All systems normal, Captain!" and "Captain on the bridge!"

She also mentions a female 2nd officer, saying "Stella Skyfire reporting for duty! She's Captain Cosmos' second in command, at least for the first few episodes..."
This is in reference to the original, unaired pilot episode of Star Trek: The Original Series, "The Cage", in which Captain Pike has a female lieutenant who is second-in-command, simply referred to as "Number One". NBC rejected this pilot and requested a new pilot episode, ultimately making her role as second officer last for only one episode.

Another notable reference is the time slot 'Captain Cosmos' airs at, which was Thursdays at 8:00PM EST, according to leftover posters in the Hubris Comics building. Star Trek:ToS aired on the same day but at 8:30PM EST.
Deus Ex

Hidden in the game are a number of excerpts from real books. Among these books are "The Man Who was Thursday" by G.K. Chesterton (whose plot coincides with the plot of the game) and "The Eye of Argon " by Jim Thies (considered to be the worst Sci-fi genre book of all time).
Sly 2: Band of Thieves
1
During the ending cutscene, when Sly and Carmelita are discussing music, a pink record of Neil Diamond Live can be seen next to Carmelita's chair. This could be a subtle joke on the fact that Neil Diamond made a song called "Carmelita's Eyes."
Mafia II
1
Attachment Each collectable wanted poster depicts a gangster-style mugshot of a member of the game's staff.
Mafia II
1
The Playboy magazines scattered throughout the game are all anachronistic; the game takes place between 1945 and 1951, but Playboy Magazine was not founded until 1953, and the images placed in the game were published between 1958, seven years after the end of the game, to 1968, seventeen years after the end of the game. The 19 Playboys added in the DLC "Joe's Adventures" range from 1960 to 1969, with a single image added from 2007, fifty-six years after the setting's era.
Halo: Combat Evolved
1
After beating the game on the Legendary difficulty, a special cutscene plays. Spoiler:Sergeant Johnson is seen grappling for an assault rifle with a Covenant Elite. When the Pillar of Autumn's self-destruct sequence is activated, Johnson says to the Elite "This is it baby. Hold me." The two then hug while the Halo ring explodes.

An updated version of the cutscene is also present in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
