In the Japanese version, a button with an image of a whip can be used in the final turn to speed up the horse. In the US version, the image of the whip was replaced with a green "Go!" button. This was likely changed to avoid complaints over animal abuse.

Attachment Won Won wields a meat cleaver in the Japanese version of Final Fight 2, but this was removed in the English version. Despite this, the artwork featured in the manual still has him holding the cleaver, and the text warns to "be careful not to get too close to him or he'll slice you up". While no official explanation for the change has been given, it was likely due to Nintendo's censorship policy, since characters could bleed when hit by it.

On the "Remastered" version for the PlayStation 4, Sony censored several trophy names containing sexual innuendos and replaced them less provocative, though still slightly suggestive titles:

• "Are You Horny to Win?" was changed to "Horn of Plenty".
• "Hooker" was changed to "Depths Below".

Additionally, the trophy "I didn't do it... But I wish I did!", which is awarded for killing the Poseidon Princess, was removed entirely. This was possibly done to avoid suggesting that beating women should be rewarded, or simply because it came off as tasteless and offensive.

One of the enemies in the game was censored in the European release and all Dreamcast versions due to looking like a stereotypical Mexican bandito. They censored the character by turning his hair blond, giving him a white hat, and changing his clothing. However, the character remains uncensored in the American Playstation release or any of the Nintendo 64 versions.

Attachment The Japanese version of the game is called "悪魔城ドラキュラＸＸ Akumajō Dorakyura Daburu Ekkusu" - which in English literally translates to "Devil's Castle Dracula Double X". The American version, however, is simply called "Castlevania: Dracula X". Likewise, the Australian & European versions were renamed to "Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss".

There are also several differences between the titles screens of the three games. The Australian/European version does not have blood on its title screen. The Japanese version also uses two religious crosses in its "Double X" title, rather than a single red X used by the American version. The "PASS WORD" option is also spelled incorrectly in the Japanese version, but was later corrected as "PASSWORD" in the International version.

In the Australian/European & Japanese versions, the boomerang cross weapon looks like a religious cross, but was replaced with a regular X-shaped cross in the International version. This was likely done to avoid any religious complaints.
