Destiny 2

The Road Complex AA1 armor was altered in patches 1.0.1.2 and 1.0.1.3 to change their design. This was done as a result of the gauntlets' resemblance to the "Kek" meme which originated in Starcraft and World of Warcraft but has since taken a different meaning, often being associated with white nationalist movements.

The original intention was in reference to the meme's use in games, and the change came about as Bungie doesn't feel its inclusion given its more contemporary context to be appropriate for the game.

Attachment Spoiler:The scene where Artorius kills Laphicet was changed for the Western release. Instead of stabbing him directly in the chest, Artorius sacrifices Laphicet through a magical ceremony.
Strangers in a Strange Land

A month after its release on Steam, the game was removed from the digital distribution service on August 19th, 2017 after users had complained that it was considered to be porn. The game returned for sale on Steam on September 4th, 2017 with all sex scenes and nudity censored, however a patch to make the game uncensored was made available online by the game's developers.
Saints Row IV

Due to the game's content, it was the first game to be banned for sale in Australia after the introduction of the R18+ classification. A censored version of the game was created, removing the content that was deemed inappropriate and later approved for release by the board.
Shadow the Hedgehog
1
The game was originally intended to be more graphic than the final release, with the initial goal being to be given a T Rating by the ESRB. However, part way through the game's development the ESRB introduced the E10+ Rating, so the Development Team decided to aim for that instead, resulting in some of the game's content being censored. This included changing the Black Arms' blood from red to green, editing scenes of GUN Soldiers' deaths, cutting out Maria's death, and censoring some pieces of dialogue.

In the Super Famicom (Japanese) version of the game, there is a small, dark dot on the forehead of Belger's character portrait, most likely as a result of shading. In the international release, Nintendo removed this dot for fear it would be mistaken for a bindi and thus make players think that they were beating up a disabled Hindu. On other platforms, the character portraits are too small to display such a minute detail clearly.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven

Attachment Originally Stroheim's default outfit was his Nazi uniform, with the cyborg one being his alternate. The Nazi costume was completely removed in the western releases, thus making his default outfit the cyborg one.

In the Japanese game's intro, Jessica appears in a bra on the T.V. screen for a few seconds before Damnd does. However, in the US and international versions, Jessica is never shown. Damnd's face is always in the monitor, but you can hear Jessica screaming in the background. In the Sega CD version, however, Jessica can be seen in the intro wearing a red dress.

Attachment Blood and alcohol was removed entirely in the American SNES version.

Attachment The final boss of the game, Belger, is seen sitting in an electric wheelchair, though he is perfectly capable of walking without it. The exact reason why he needs the wheelchair is unknown. Some players theorize that Belger uses a wheelchair to trick his enemies into thinking that he is frail and helpless, or to discourage them from attacking him, as it would look uncivilized or cowardly to physically assault a "disabled" person.

In order to avoid the associated controversies, the wheelchair was digitally redesigned into an executive office chair during the game's transition from Japan to the rest of the world. The international version also adds new frames of animation for Belger walking, just to make it clear that he isn't disabled. In the Japanese version, he has no walking animation and merely hops around the room.
God of War III
1
The Japanese version of God of War III censored some of the game's more explicit violence and nudity:

• Poseidon's Princess, Aphrodite, and her handmaidens had their breasts covered up.
• The graphic wounds that Kratos gives to Hercules' face were removed during his death scene.
• When Kratos chops off Hermes' legs, his protruding bones were removed during his death scene.
• The scene where Kratos removes Helios' head with his bare hands takes place off-screen.

In the Japanese version, a button with an image of a whip can be used in the final turn to speed up the horse. In the US version, the image of the whip was replaced with a green "Go!" button. This was likely changed to avoid complaints over animal abuse.

In the Japanese version, if you ask Roger Buster during the post-game interview what he would do with one billion credits of prize money, he will say he would get a nice cold beer. However, if you ask him the same question in the English version, he will instead say he would get a nice cold drink.
