If the player enters the following names starting with the word "Krunk" as their profile name, hidden messages will appear:

Krunk: "You heard about the time I killed me a couple of Heroes?"
Krunkl: [same message as above]
Krunki: "My hands are red with the blood of thousands."
Krunko: "You know I once burned down a whole village?"
Krunkn: "I once killed a White Balverine, I did. It's true."

Note that the last letter in each variation of "Krunk" spells "lion", in reference to Lionhead Studios.

Attachment In the initial release of "The Ancient Gods - Part One" DLC on October 20, 2020, pressing the dedicated Chainsaw button four times while on the Runes tab of the Dossier would bring up an altered logo for the game reading "Doog Eternal". This is a reference to Inugami Korone, a Japanese virtual YouTuber who livestreamed Doom 64 and Doom (2016) in the past. She enjoyed using the Chainsaw weapon and she was nicknamed by her community as "Doog Slayer" (a play on the fact that her model is a humanoid dog).

Three days later, the Easter egg was removed from the game in the Version 3.1 update. The patch notes acknowledged the discovery, but the reason why it was removed remains unknown:

"The DOOG easter egg has been removed, but will live on in infamy… We were wondering how long it would take for someone to notice, and as always, we're impressed with the community's speed!"

Attachment On the back of K.K. Slider's guitar are two stickers labeled "PASS," depicting doodles of Brewster and Dr. Shrunk. Though difficult to see due to their small size and the fact that the back of the guitar is only visible when listening to a requested song from K.K., the stickers reference locations where he performed in prior games: the Roost (where Brewster works) in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Club LOL (where Dr. Shrunk works) in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

If you listen closely to the music being played in the Divine Beasts, you can make out Morse code for "S.O.S." This is very likely a distress call the Champions made when they were attacked by the Ganon Blights 100 years prior to the start of the game.

There are a few references to the original movie.
1. Scattered around the Torrens and Sevastopol station are drinking birds. The first one found is in the hypersleep chamber.
2. During Mission 2 in the baggage claim area, players can hear the faint sound of meowing before it abruptly stops as they approach the primary airlock. This is a possible reference to the cat Jonesy from the first movie.
3. Another reference is found when players discover the deceased Alistair Smythe who has a rolled-up magazine shoved down his throat. Spoiler:This is how Ash tried to kill Ellen Ripley.

In a Q&A with Game Informer in 2019, producer Junichi Masuda revealed that programmer Koji Nishino was given the nickname "Kabi" after Nintendo's Kirby ("カービィ" or "Kabi" in Japanese) because of his big appetite. Nishino's behavior and appetite would serve as a direct inspiration for the design of the Pokémon Snorlax, including Snorlax's habit of constantly eating and sleeping, as well as its Japanese name "Kabigon", which was derived from Nishino's nickname. This means that by association, Snorlax's name is technically derived from Kirby.

In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Roaring Moon's Violet Dex entry as well as the occult magazine's description of the Paradox Pokémon both imply that there is a deep connection between Roaring Moon and Mega Salamance. Considering that Roaring Moon, like all past Paradox Pokémon, is a prehistoric version of an existing Pokémon, in this case Salamance, this could mean that there is also a connection between Mega Evolution and Pokémon prehistory.

In the mission Starfall Street, at the request of the enigmatic Cassiopeia, the player must face off against Team Star and their five leaders who command five sects of the group. Spoiler:Eventually, It's revealed that Cassiopeia is actually their leader manipulating the player to take down her peons. This is forehadowed through references in both Cassiopeia and the Team Star sects' names. Cassiopeia is the name of an M-shaped constellation in the night sky, and the names of the leaders' different sects are all the names of the five main stars of the constellation itself: Segin, Ruchbah, Navi, Schedar, and Caph. In addition, the geological positions of the Team Star leaders' bases on the map of Paldea reflects the appearance of the Cassiopeia constellation as well.

Attachment The headpiece worn by a Pokémon when they Terastalize into a Ghost-Type greatly resembles the Sprite used in the Gen 1 games for ghost Pokémon in the Pokémon Tower of Lavender Town that can be seen when the player goes there for the first time without the Silph Scope. It's also notable for being a sprite used by the Gen 1 glitch Pokémon MissingNo.

Attachment The games' Paldea region is inspired by the real-life Iberian Peninsula in Europe where countries like Spain and Portugal are. In a lot of areas of Paldea, this can be seen:
•The Glaseado Mountains are based on the Pyrenees Mountains that separate Spain and France
•The large amount of caves in the region are possibly based on Spain's own large amount of caves, such as the Malaga Province's Caves of Nerja
•The real life Andalusia Region, known for its olive fields and sunflowers, is the inspiration for the Paldean cities of Cortondo and its similar olive fields, and Artazon and its sunflora connection
•Naranja/Uva Academy is architecturally based on La Sagrada Familia (The Holy Family) in Barcelona, an old landmark church that is still in an unfinished state to this day, among other inspirations.
•The regional variants on old Pokémon also reflect this; for instance, Paldea's black-furred Fighting-type variant of Taurus represents a Spanish Fighting Bull.

On April 27th, during the protagonist's date with Saki, one of the places they can go to is a cinema to see a movie, specifically a film version of the game Policenauts. The protagonist struggles to follow the film's plot, and finds more interest in watching Saki watch the film. Afterwards, Saki quizzes the protagonist on various parts of the film's plot that she didn't notice or didn't get. This reference was added most likely because this game runs on Policenauts' engine, and that its creator Hideo Kojima was also this game's director.
