Half-Life: Blue Shift
1
As seen in a early trailer, the game was originally named Half-Life: Guard Duty.
The King of Fighters XIV
1
KOF XIV was originally going to have a more realistic look during the earlier stages of development in order to emulate the aesthetic of The King of Fighters '94. However, because certain characters have unrealistic features such as blue or pink/purple hair like Kula or Athena, the developers thought it would end up looking weird. Instead, they tweaked things and wound up with the current graphics.
Asura's Wrath

Hiroshi Matsuyama was interviewed by "SuperSoluce" at the Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show 2012 and was asked why he didn't chose motion capture for the game's animations, but instead chose to animate by hand. He commented:

"We appreciate motion capture technology, but it does not always reproduce what we want. This is the same for Naruto: when you utilize animated sequences that require a superhuman flexibility, you can not use motion capture. For Asura's Wrath we have sought people who had six arms, but have not had any success. You understand that we had to find something else to transcribe most of these animations."
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations
1
In an interview with "Hiroshi Matsuyama" at Japan Expo 2011, he was asked about why the game is called Storm Generations and not Storm 3. He commented:

"The main reason it's called Storm Generations is that it's not a true sequel to Storm 2. In this game our focus was to incorporate not only the Shippuden generation, but also the younger one as well. We wanted to answer the request of the fans to include characters like Zabuza and Haku. That's why it's called Storm Generations."

Franchise: Street Fighter

Because of the success of the Street Fighter II animated movie, Capcom included several details from the film in the storyline of the series and other future games.

• The grass field in Australia where Ryu fights Sagat at the beginning of the movie is the stage for Sagat's final battle against Ryu in the Arcade mode of Street Fighter Alpha 2, complete with lightning in the background.
• While the Monitor Cyborgs have yet to be seen in the main games, their biographies are included in the Japanese Street Fighter V website along with their character artwork.
• Senoh, Bison's mad scientist servant, makes a cameo appearance in Bison's ending in Street Fighter Alpha 2.
• In his battle intros, Zangief appears wearing the red cape he wears when he is first seen in the movie.
• Ken's longer hair, seen in flashbacks in the movie, is the same style in which it appears in the games.
• The idea of Ken giving Ryu a noogie during their special intro also comes from the movie.
• Ryu's red headband is a gift from Ken, shown in Ken's ending in Street Fighter Alpha 2.
• The VTOL jet that Bison used in the movie is seen in many endings in the Alpha series. It is also seen in Bison's stage in Street Fighter Alpha 2.
• In X-Men vs. Street Fighter and later games, Cammy will remove a red cloak at the beginning of each match similar to the one in the movie.

In the Japanese game's intro, Jessica appears in a bra on the T.V. screen for a few seconds before Damnd does. However, in the US and international versions, Jessica is never shown. Damnd's face is always in the monitor, but you can hear Jessica screaming in the background. In the Sega CD version, however, Jessica can be seen in the intro wearing a red dress.
Final Fight

Attachment Blood and alcohol was removed entirely in the American SNES version.

Attachment The final boss of the game, Belger, is seen sitting in an electric wheelchair, though he is perfectly capable of walking without it. The exact reason why he needs the wheelchair is unknown. Some players theorize that Belger uses a wheelchair to trick his enemies into thinking that he is frail and helpless, or to discourage them from attacking him, as it would look uncivilized or cowardly to physically assault a "disabled" person.

In order to avoid the associated controversies, the wheelchair was digitally redesigned into an executive office chair during the game's transition from Japan to the rest of the world. The international version also adds new frames of animation for Belger walking, just to make it clear that he isn't disabled. In the Japanese version, he has no walking animation and merely hops around the room.
Chakan: The Forever Man

Mark Miller, Steve Ross, and Mira Ross are credited with developing the Game Gear port despite not actually being involved at all. The port was developed almost single-handedly by programmer Paul Hutchinson, who was hired as an independent contractor and worked out of his home to build the game.

Street Fighter x All Capcom
1
The game is the first in the series to drop the "Minna to" from its title. Despite this, it is still considered a Minna to game, and is the successor to Minna to Capcom All Stars following said game's servers shutting down a year before SFxAC's launch.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

In the final game, it's impossible to take Bastila onto Korriban, as she fears she will be recognized by the Sith running the planet. However, she and other characters have voice clips related to her being on Korriban.

If one mods the game to allow Bastila on Korriban, it is possible to hear the the fully implemented voice clips, suggesting that her removal from Korriban was done late into development.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Super Sonic was originally meant to make his debut in this game in the Hidden Palace zone. However, the idea and zone were scrapped due to time constraints.

Attachment During the game's development, Pharah (then only known as "Rocket Dude") was male and just "a dude in jetpack and a rocket launcher":

"For Pharah, I think we started with Jeff Goodman’s original design of how about a hero with a jet pack and a rocket launcher? That was it. The gameplay was solid, but we didn’t really have a good visual. It sounded like a very simple concept, but it really took us a lot of iterations to get to where Pharah is today.

[His name] used to be Rocket Dude, but we went back and forth. One of the first original concepts by Justin Thavirat... it was a super high concept (but I loved the shapes and the silhouettes); but then we looked at it and we were like... it’s a little too high concept and we wanted to ground it a little, so then you see the next one: “Oh yeah! It’s a dude in jetpack and a rocket launcher” and then suddenly we almost stripped down everything interesting about the hero. We went through several other iterations as you can see but retaining some of that original spirit of Justin’s original sketch and points from all these ideas from all these different artists we were able to come up with the final design which I’m super proud of."
