According to former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi, the GameCube's cheap price was the result of Nintendo's perception that gamers cared only about the games themselves, and that game consoles were just pieces of hardware that were required to play the games. As a result, Nintendo decided to make the GameCube's price significantly lower than the competition's in order to make the former's titles more accessible to consumers.

Through Square Enix's PlayOnline service, players were able to play an online variant of Tetra Master, the card game from Final Fantasy IX. It used characters from both Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy X.

The game was unfortunately discontinued on December 31, 2010.

In Chapter 13, "Blood Contract", the objective is to last against an army for twelve turns with the help of ally NPCs. One of the NPCs is an archer manning a ballista in the top left corner of the map. Nicknamed "3-13 Archer", this NPC has gained a reputation in the Fire Emblem community for attacking and surviving numerous enemy encounters, going as far as leaving his turret to block advancing enemy units.

King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow

A pamphlet that came with King's Quest VI listed a bunch of radio stations that received the game's iconic song, "Girl in the Tower". Although some radio stations complied with caller requests for the song, others had their phone lines jammed with calls and some stations threatened to sue Sierra for their publicity stunt.
Overwatch

Hongyu Wu, a Chinese Overwatch player, lost his life whilst bravely chasing a motorbike thief on May 23rd, 2016.

A memorial was placed in his honor on the Control Center map of Lijiang Tower, where the name "宏宇" (Hongyu) is placed on one of red team's space suits. The phrase "英雄不朽" (Heroes never die) is also added to the background behind it.

This is due to inaccurate emulation of the music, where instead of just the tempo increasing, the true speed -- and therefore pitch -- also increases.

Attachment On the website for the game OmniBus, a special edition of the game was offered for $7,500 that came with the game, soundtrack, and an actual MCI bus. The publisher Devolver Digital claimed that the bus "may or may not have been used to motion capture lifelike bus movement for the game." The website also links to a "free" edition of the game, which simply allows people to download and print off papercraft templates to make their own bus model out of paper.
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

According to an interview with the game's composers Teruhiko Nakagawa and Kenichi Tokoi, both actually went to Rio itself where the 2016 Olympic Games took place in order to get a Brazilian feel for the game's music. After a Brazilian percussionist commented that their music had a Cuban rhythm to it, both composers realized they "didn’t have a clue what samba is supposed to feel like." As a result, they recorded in Brazil two weeks before the annual Rio Carnival took place.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

If Link possesses a red shield and the Ether medallion, Link can obtain an "ice" shield that has a blue palette swap in place of the usual red color on the shield. Link must use Ether while a Pinket takes Link's shield and then kill the Pinket afterwards. When Link picks the shield back up, it will turn blue. Using Ether again will return the shield to it's original red color.

If Link goes to the Master Sword pedestal before rescuing Zelda from the prison cell at the beginning of the game, he'll encounter a glitched enemy that resembles a bouncing head of a villager from Kakariko Village. The Master Sword is also not in its pedestal.
