According to Jeremiah Slaczka, the Galactic Jungle village was inspired by the Franz Kafka novel "The Castle".

Attachment The interior of Jowee's House features a poster of the game Lock's Quest, which was also developed by 5th Cell and published by THQ, and a stuffed doll based on the character Bluebit from that game.

The game's ending was changed when released in the Drawn to Life Collection.

The original ending Spoiler:featured Mike and Heather holding dolls of Mari and Jowee before they are both in a car crash, resulting in both of their parents dying. Heather is severely injured, and Mike is sent into a coma. This suggests that the game took place in Mike's mind while he was in a coma. In the end, Mike wakes up.

In the rerelease, the ending was changed so that Spoiler:Mike simply falls from a tree and becomes unconscious while his sister looks over him. He then wakes up, and looks over to his Mari and Jowee dolls.

Attachment There are a number of unused sprites in the game's files that seem to show other character heads on Mike's body. This would suggest that Mike's body was used as a placeholder sprite for other characters, or perhaps even as a base when redrawing new characters. These unused sprites only have worried and cheering animations.

At the end it is revealed that Spoiler:all the game's events occurred inside a coma experienced by a boy named Mike. In an early cutscene, Heather tells Mari and Jowee to "Kemi-Kewa", which when unscrambled says "Wake Mike".
