The cartoonish cutscenes were outsourced to a small group of Russian animators; they were flown to the United States and drew the cutscenes in a small apartment for six months.

Attachment There is a special encounter in which you come across a stone ring called the "Guardian of Forever."

If you pass through it, you are instantly transported into Vault 13, where you can find good loot, as well as come across a Computer Terminal with a "functioning water chip." You cannot leave this area until you interact with the computer. Doing this will make you accidentally break the Water-Chip giving you 1000 exp and the message "You have broken the water chip... the vault has maybe 100-150 days left of water. This comforts you for some reason."

This is a reference to the Sci-fi series Star Trek, specifically referencing the episode The City on the Edge of Forever. In it, Kirk, Spock and Doctor McCoy are transported into pre-WWII America and cannot return home until history is fixed, with the stone ring acting as a portal into the past.

This also suggests that the player (The Chosen One) is directly responsible for the beginning of the first Fallout game, in which the player (The Vault Dweller) has to go out and look for a new Water Chip to replace the broken one, having only about 100-150 days to do so.

Attachment Baelog, Eric and Olaf, the main protagonists of Blizzard's Lost Vikings series, appear in the dungeon Uldaman. Two items which you have to retrieve for them are the "Staff of Tsol" and the "Medallion of Gni'kiv" which when read backwards say "Lost Viking". As of Cataclysm, you can find these characters in the Badlands.

The story doesn't take place in Hyrule, but rather in "Tolemac". If you reverse Tolemac, it spells out Camelot, the name of the castle and court of King Arthur.
Super Smash Bros. Melee

Attachment A screenshot in Super Smash Bros. Melee's instruction booklet shows a Stamina match in which there are characters with more than 150HP. This could either mean that the original HP was a higher number, or that it was player-configurable.

In Chapter 7, when a hooded Mr. Saturn gives you back the Courage Badge, he says goodbye to the player and walks a few spaces offscreen where it is supposed to stop and disappear. However, due to a bug, he remains in that spot, just a few spaces away from the player. Itoi liked this bug, so he decided to keep it there and write some text for him.
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

Attachment The "Design Magazine" given to Servbot #40 was originally an "Adult Magazine" in the Japanese version. After giving him the magazine, he can be found in Tron's bed having fun and commenting on how bland he thinks the Gesellschaft's colors are, however in the Japanese release his dialogue suggests that he is a pervert that's sniffing Tron's odor in her bed. The magazine's sprite however remains the same in both versions. #40 would also originally give you the Beauty Book but this was taken out of the Western release as it was related to the PocketStation peripheral.

If the player places 4th or 5th overall in a Grand Prix, they will be shown a cutscene where their character looks on at the winners, sadly drives off, and then gets blown-up by a Bob-Omb. The game then shows a message that says "What a Pity! You placed 4th/5th; Maybe next time!" Throughout the cutscene, the music changes from the standard fanfare to a more bleak version when the losing character drives off, and soon slows to a stop when the Bob-Omb appears.

If the player places in the top three, it's also possible to see the 4th place character in the distance for a brief moment, alluding to the hidden cutscene.

There was originally going to be another game in the Saints Row series known as Saints Row: Money Shot. It was going to be connected with (the then upcoming) Saints Row 3 and unlock things for it. It was cancelled however, and the content was released as DLC instead. A beta was found online a few years later, though it requires a JTAG hacked Xbox 360 to play.

In the September 1994 issue of Weekly Famitsu, Shigesato Itoi stated that the rolling health meter in battle was originally going to be made of Pachinko beads. The idea came to him when a Pachinko parlor opened right by their office. He thought that the idea would be scary to see a stream of beads rattling out from Ness and his friends. However, it was difficult for them to portray it on screen, as when the amount increased, it covered up 1/3 of the screen.

At the train station in Los Santos, look up when standing at the mouth of the train tunnel to see a billboard that makes a reference to the game's competitor "True Crime: Streets of LA". The billboard says, "Get rid of old rubbish fast! True Grime: Street Cleaners". It can be found in other billboards around San Andreas too.

Attachment There is a special encounter in which you can find a place called the "Café of Broken Dreams."

The café is actually a copy of "Maltese Falcon" in the Hub from Fallout 1, and the name is likely a reference to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", a short story written by Harlan Ellison where the main character sees dead people from the past.

Inside the cafe are five Vault character models, three of which talk about what past players did with them in Fallout 1, and two that are unplayable.

Set, Tandi and Dogmeat from Fallout 1 are in here as well. Dogmeat can be recruited if you show him your default Vault suit.

If you hurt Dogmeat, a character named "Mel" with an Australian accent in a leather jacket will appear and attack you. This is a direct reference to actress Mel Gibson who played Mad Max in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.

Shooting Eva with the Mk.II Hush Puppy as she sleeps will cause her to mutter explicit things including "mmm, right there...", "Snake, that feels so good..." and a phrase referring to The Boss, "Boss, that feels so good..." She would also mention her dog.

Both Ness and Lucas are unable to learn their Final Smashes (PK Starstorm) in their respective games. Instead, it's a move that both Poo (Ness' partner) and Kumatora (Lucas' partner) learn. In both Final Smash trophies, it says the partners taught them the move so that they could use it in Brawl.

The game started out as a Mad Max game, but was later dropped when no one could find out who owned the rights to Mad Max. It was later turned into an adaptation of Dethrace 2020, the (than planned) sequel to Deathrace 2000, which introduced the running over of pedestrians. Right up until the game shipped, the .exe file was called Deathrace.

In the game, Travis' mentor is Thunder Ryu, a former professional wrestler turned Yakuza. Thunder Ryu shares a name with one of the many wrestlers in the game Fire Pro Wrestling, specifically Typhoon Dragon Thunder Ryu, who takes the place of real life wrestler Genichiro Tenryu, due to Fire Pro not having the rights to any actual wrestling federations. It's thought to be either a reference to the Fire Pro Wrestling, or the exact same character, due to the fact the developer, Goichi Suda, got his start in developing games with Super Fire Pro Wrestling 3 Final Bout, and Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special for the Famicom.
