Twisted Metal
1
Attachment A rumor was circulated that the game was based on ideas left behind from another game, Twisted Metal: Apocalypse, which was cancelled after the tragic death of 6 members of the the creative team, who passed away in an airplane crash.

This story was perpetuated by Lead developer David Jaffe during an interview to promote a future Twisted Metal release. In it he states "there were a number of people who were working on the team -- and I wasn't working with the team -- that were killed. They died in a plane crash in Utah on a ski trip." However, he later rescinds that comment in a back and forth with a reporter from 1up.com. During that, Jaffe says, "We never used- and I never would- a tragedy (real or fake) to promote ANYTHING. The story of the developers dying in the plane crash (totally fake) was never used to promote that game."

Fallout 2

The in-game description and model suggest that Bozar was intended to be a Sniper Rifle, rather than an inaccurate, automatic, heavy support weapon with a scope. It's likely that it was either repurposed during development, or mistakenly given the statistics of an automatic weapon and never fixed.
The Adventures of Batman & Robin
1
Attachment The Seventh Level, "Riddle Me This...", is based off of Episode 40 of Batman: The Animated Series, "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?"

• Both include the Riddler as the main antagonist.
• Batman and Robin have to run through a maze designed by the Riddler.
• The title cards are visually similar.
• The same Minotaur that is fought in the cartoon is a boss in the game.
• The riddle featured in the cartoon is the same riddle featured in the game.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Several characters mention Mundus, the main antagonist of Devil May Cry, before or after fighting one of the characters from that series. Before the battle with Trish, Ghost Rider will say "I eat demons like Mundus for breakfast.". Phoenix (Jean Grey), after defeating Vergil, will say "Perhaps if I'm not too busy, I'll take care of Mundus, too." Dormammu also says to Dante that he should stick to fighting Mundus, implying not only that Dante is not strong enough to defeat him, but that Dormammu is more powerful than Mundus.
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
1
Attachment The way that Wario takes the Form Baton is similar to a scene in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, in which Indiana Jones is chased by a boulder after taking a golden idol from its resting place in a temple.
Bionic Commando: Elite Forces
1
Attachment Inside the game's files are graphics from the Game Boy Color remake of Crystalis, which was released 5 months after Elite Forces. From the images, it appears that the title logo for the Crystalis remake would have resembled the original NES version, but the title screen used in the final product is completely different.

The most likely reason for the presence of these images in an unrelated game is because both games were developed by the same Nintendo subsidiary: Nintendo Software Technology.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

After killing a Redead, any other Redeads near it will flock around the felled enemy and sit. It's speculated that the Redeads are either mourning the loss of a comrade, or are eating the dead corpse, explaining why it disappears.
The Stanley Parable
1
At the beginning of the game, while the the narrator is telling the player to go to the meeting room, it is possible to look through a window and see an unnamed man walking down a hallway, if the player moves quickly. It is unknown who this man is, but it is believed to be either a fellow co-worker, or Stanley himself.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
1
During the Nintendo Direct on October 1st 2013, Iwata mentioned that fans saw a physical resemblance between the shop keeper Ravio, and Nabbit from New Super Mario Bros U. Iwata explained that although they are not the same character, since the Mario and Zelda games are developed on the same floor at the Nintendo of Japan Headquarters, the developers may have inspired one another unknowingly.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

It's possible to use an empty bottle to reflect Phantom Ganon and Ganondorf's magic blasts back at them, similar to how the Bug-Catching Net can be used to reflect Agahnim's magic in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Both items are used in their respective games to catch things, which are then stored in a bottle. Also like the net, there are some advantages to using the bottle: it has a slightly wider swipe and a more consistent motion than the sword.
Franchise: Pokémon
1
Attachment There's a theory that Wobbuffet's blue body is a decoy, and that the black tail is the actual Pokemon. Many believe this due to the fact that Wobbuffet can take such a beating and not be affected. Multiple Pokedex entries also say that Wobbuffet is very protective of its tail. The Pokedex entry in Pokemon Silver claims "To keep its pitch-black tail hidden, it lives quietly in the darkness." In Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, the Pokedex entries claim "It desperately tries to keep its black tail hidden. It is said to be proof the tail hides a secret." On top of all of that, the tail does possess a pair of eyes, which further supports this theory.

Plants vs. Zombies

In the "Achievement" menu, continuing to scroll down the page, past the list of achievements, will reveal a number of characters and items referencing previous Popcap games.

At the very bottom of the page are Zombies dressed in Chinese attire situated in front of a pagoda, implying it is the other side of the Earth.
World of Warcraft
1
Attachment Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer, is a staff dropped by Illidan Stormrage. The staff is modeled after a Felhunter, which greatly resembles a Starcraft Zergling, and the "hero" Zergling unit is called "The Devouring One".
The Legend of Zelda

Attachment All of the dungeon maps can be pieced together to form a rectangular grid. It's believed that this was done to save space on the game cartridge.
Manhunt
1
It is likely that Manhunt is set within the same universe as the Grand Theft Auto series, which are both published by Rockstar. There are multiple references to stores and locations in both games, and the setting for Manhunt, Carcer City, is directly referenced in multiple Grand Theft Auto games.
Grand Theft Auto V
1
At the Yellow Jack Inn, there are bloody footsteps around the 8 ball pool table in the back. This is a possible reference to the serial killer Merle Abrahams and his obsession with the number '8'.
Tearaway
1
Attachment In one of the early trailers for Tearaway, iota is seen holding a pink and yellow swirly cone shaped item that would blow Scraps away whenever the player shouted into the Vita's microphone. The item functions similarly to The Squeezebox, an item that sucks in as well as blowing Scraps away when the L or R buttons are pressed.

The reason this item was removed is unknown, however it could have been replaced with the Squeezebox. Both items have similar functions, and the Squeezebox would be less tedious to use as the user wouldn't have to shout.
Biohazard i Survivor
1
i Survivor is the only game in the series to add new S.T.A.R.S. members to the franchise since the original game. This likely makes it non-canon, despite its otherwise rigorous adherence to the information found in the main entries in the series.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
1
Attachment An unused HUD element named "InfAdvLevel0000" was apparently intended to display a shrinking bar for 50 frames (5/6 of a second) with a "level number" in a circle. The label "pp" is even more mysterious. The black areas of the textures would have been transparent in-game.
Grand Theft Auto IV
1
Attachment In the Ballad of Gay Tony trailer titled "Meet Luis Lopez", Luis is seen wearing the brown and black Perseus suit, but with blue jeans. This implies that it may have been one of Luis' already available outfits.
