During "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT: Behind the English voice cast" with Natalie Lander (Terra Branford's English voice actress), Natalie explained that she wanted to honor Yukari Fukui (Terra's Japanese voice actress) by mimicking her sound quality for her character's voice.

It's usually impossible to use Chaos as a playable character, however it's possible to play as him with the use of cheat codes.

There are 3D models for both Aeris and Tonberry in the game's data that are never used. Aeris may have been considered as an assist character, considering she appeared in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.

Dissidia Final Fantasy was originally planned as a Kingdom Hearts spin-off, but Disney did not approve of their characters fighting each other.

In the cut-scene where Cloud fights Sephiroth (Destiny Odyssey VII), several shots are recreated from previous titles.
• The scene where Cloud and Sephiroth cross swords is similar to the scene from Crisis Core in which Sephiroth and Cloud battle in the Nibbleheim Reactor.
• After being knocked back, Cloud descends towards Sephiroth who then knocks Cloud back into the air. This is similar to Sephiroth's first appearance in Advent Children.
• After Cloud lands, the camera pans across Sephiroth's Masamune up to his face, similar to another scene from Advent Children.
• At the end of the scene where Cloud and Sephiroth face off, their poses are similar to their final battle from Final Fantasy VII.

In Dissidia Final Fantasy, after acquiring the Moogle summon while playing as Tidus in Inward Chaos, there is a random chance that some of Tidus' attacks that use a Blitzball like Sphere Shot, Wither Shot, and Jecht Shot may randomly have him use a ball shaped like a Moogle head instead. This can also be unlocked in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy by completing Chasm of the Rotting Land and having Tidus speak to the Moogle that awards the Moogle summon. When using Jecht Shot, if Tidus throws the Moogle ball for it, the first Bravery hit will be slightly stronger.

Many characters that appeared in Dissidia 012 were originally supposed to be in Dissidia. These characters, left out for unknown reasons, were Vaan, Kain, Lighting, Yuna and Prishe.
