Attachment The Twin Galaxies Intergalactic Scoreboard announced a prize on September 24, 2005 for $1,000 to the first player to beat George Costanza's fictional Frogger high-score of 860,630 points, from the Seinfeld episode The Frogger, in which George buys a Frogger arcade-cabinet that holds his high-score on it and ends the episode trying to cross a traffic-busy street with the battery-powered cabinet, ala Frogger style.
The contest ended in December 31, 2005 with no winners, and it wasn't until December 22, 2009 when a person named Pat Laffaye from Connecticut, USA beat the fictional-score at 896,980 points. Pat's highscore was then beaten on July 15, 2012 by a person named Michael Smith, with a new highscore of 970,440 points.

The Hubologist faction found in San Francisco are largely a parody of the real-world religion of Scientology. The founder of the Hubologists, Dick Hubbell, is a parody of L. Ron Hubbard, who was the founder of the Scientology religion. There is also two New Reno porn-star Hubologists called Juan Cruz and Vikki Goldman, another parody of the then-outspoken advocates of Scientology and Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

Bande Dessinée, a digital comic strip retelling the story of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, has a number of significant differences to the original game's story:
• The Tanker Incident is portrayed through flashbacks at several points throughout the story instead of being shown in full at the beginning.
• Spoiler: Peter Stillman never fakes being unable to walk and never mentions the church bombing that haunted him in the game. He accompanies Raiden to the battle Fatman, and a video of Fatman appears when Stillman activates the last C4 who calls out Stillman by name and gloats about how he had the last laugh.
• Spoiler: The Sorrow appears in one of the new scenes which the spirit of Liquid Snake enters Revolver Ocelot's mind and talks with him about how he is able to possess him scenes.
• Spoiler: A flashback never seen in the original game of Raiden's childhood as a child soldier was added during Raiden's torture under Solidus Snake.
• Spoiler: Snake is the one to fight Vamp in the purification chamber and escort Emma Emmerich to the computer room.
• Spoiler: During the fight atop Federal Hall, Solidus knocks Raiden out. Snake then appears, having failed to follow Liquid Ocelot in the stolen Metal Gear RAY, and challenges Solidus to a sword duel.

Attachment There are secrets that can be triggered by pressing the Start button rapidly on the Beginner, Advanced, and Expert courses:

•On the Beginner Course, stopping at the Finish line and pressing Start rapidly will cause the bulletin to flash various hidden messages. Despite being approved for all audiences, one message states "Go to Hell".
•On the Advanced Course, during at least the third lap, when you reach the giant red skeleton spider, rapidly pressing Start will cause a spaceship attacking the spider to fire lasers at it. This is the only one of the three secrets that can be triggered in the MIX version of the course.
•On the Expert Course, near the Start line, there is a set of five industrial fans that will spin faster the more you press the Start button. If you hold the Start button for the entire first lap, on the second lap when you return to the fans, they will be spinning so fast that they will actually fly off of their hinges and out of the course.
