Resident Evil: Confidential Report
1
It is highly likely that Confidential Report actually takes place in Raccoon City, although it has never been explicitly stated by any official source. The entrance to the police department in the game (whose name is conveniently covered by the top of the screen) has almost the exact same layout as it is in the main series. Also, Tyler Hamilton's, the other one of the game's protagonists, outfit is really similar to a standard RPD one.
Saints Row IV
1
There is a suit in the game called "Ransom Hunter" that resembles Boba Fett's armour from Star Wars.
Pikmin 2
1
Because Olimar is carrying a bottle cap in the game's intro, it would mean he has the strength of at least four Pikmin.
Franchise: Pikmin
1
It's possible that each of the first 5 Pikmin's designs represent the 5 recognized senses:

• Smell: Red Pikmin have visible noses
• Taste: Blue Pikmin have visible mouths
• Sound: Yellow Pikmin have visible ears
• Touch: Purple Pikmin have hairs atop their head, possibly serving as feelers
• Sight: White Pikmin have large eyes.
Franchise: Silent Hill
1
Attachment It is speculated that the fog effect was originally used due to hardware limitations in order to cover up the poor draw distance. The effect was well received, and become a recurring element in the series.
Pikmin 3
1
Attachment When the game's characters were just starting to be released, there were to be 4 playable characters, A (Which became Alph), B (Which became Brittany), C (Which became Charlie), and D. Nobody currently knows what happened to character D, but it's speculated that because the crew's ship is named the Drake, many aspects of Character D were given to the ship.
Pikmin 2
1
The game's files list the captain's folders as "orima" (Olimar), "orima3" (Louie), and "syatyou" (The President). The captain "orima2" was removed and was speculated to be Olimar's son.
Super Mario Sunshine
1
Attachment Some have speculated that human NPCs were to be in the game. This is because a human girl can be seen in the Space World 2001 trailer, but only for a fraction of a second.
Super Mario 64
1
Attachment There is an unused animated Yoshi egg texture in the game's data, suggesting that Yoshi was going to play a bigger role in the game, similar to Super Mario World.
1
Attachment Two of Nintendo's biggest franchises, Mario and The Legend of Zelda, have water-centric games on the Gamecube. Some have speculated this is somehow related to the GameCube's early project name "Dolphin".
Grand Theft Auto III
1
Attachment An early artwork of 8-Ball has the name Mullan, A.K.A. 8-Ball written besides his image, suggesting his name may have been Mullan in development. This name was never used in any GTA game.
Franchise: Monkey Island
1
Attachment While Curse of Monkey Island was being developed, an animated feature film based off of the game series was in consideration. It was believed that Curse of Monkey island was the said movie. However. According to Sam and Max creator Steve Purcell, who was one of the artists providing concept art for the said film, the film would have had an original story as well as introduce new characters. The film never happened, but it's believed that the first Pirates of the Caribbean film from Disney is based off of the purposed script for the Monkey Island film.
Bionic Commando
1
After the ending credits, there is a morse code conversation between two unknown people. The first massage says "Vault facility occupied. Project Vulture Sentry System has been disabled. Awaiting instructions." The second is a German sentence, that when translated says "Confirmed. Implementation of phase Two. Activate project ALBATROSS." This was meant to set up for a sequel that (at the time of writing this) has yet to be announced.
Grand Theft Auto III
1
Miguel drives a Banshee for a getaway car in the opening cutscene, which is strange as there are four people in the group and a Banshee has only two seats. This could be hinting Catalina's betrayal.
Mother
1
In the English prototype of Mother, some of the characters were redesigned, possibly to avoid resembling characters from Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic strip. One NPC character was given pigtails to reduce her resemblance to Marcy, Peppermint Patty's best friend, and the dust cloud was removed from an NPC that looked like "Pigpen". Ninten's mom was also given a different hairstyle, possibly because it resembled Sally Brown, Charlie Brown's sister. Ironically, Ninten's shirt was given a stripe, which made him look similar to Charlie Brown.
Pokémon Black Version

1
Fans believe a number of areas in the game include music that sounds similar to music in Mother 3, such as Pokemon's "N's Farewell" and Mother 3's "Love Theme," and Pokemon's "Surf Theme" sounding like Mother 3's "The Green Train's Fun Too!"

None of the songs in the game are confirmed to be inspired by the Mother series.
Dark Souls
1
Attachment It is commonly speculated that Gwyndolin was a son of Lord Gwyn raised as a woman due to his affinity to the moon. Unsurprisingly this leads to him having feminine traits such as long hair, fair skin, and feminine clothing. But surprisingly he also has breasts. This is because the character model used for Gwyndolin is a female character model, despite the fact the character is actually male. This trait is also present in the Dark Souls Art Book.
Donkey Kong Country
2
It was rumored that Shigeru Miyamoto disliked Donkey Kong Country. The rumor stated that Miyamoto said "Donkey Kong Country proves that players will put up with mediocre game play as long as the art is good."

Later in an interview with IGN, Miyamoto clarified that he did in fact like Donkey Kong Country, and that he worked very closely with Rare on the game.
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
1
Mt. Krakatroda's temple has pictures of Trode, from Dragon Quest 8, caring for his daughter Medea in her horse form. This is also the location where you receive the alchemy pot, Krak Pot, implying that this is the same pot used by the hero during Dragon Quest 8, and as such is the same world.
Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
1
Looking through the code in EoSD reveals a third playable character who was scrapped due to time constraints. The character's name is "Rin Satsuki", who would have wielded Flower Sign (Type A) and Wind Sign (Type B) Spell Cards. The character was speculated to be a Kirin or a nurse. The only official artwork of this character that exists is from Comiket 62.
