One of Krystal's scrapped areas from Dinosaur Planet was Discovery Falls, a sprawling region of waterfalls and hidden caves. Intended as her next destination after rescuing Princess Kyte from the SharpClaw in Cape Claw, it featured her first Krazoa Shrine challenge: the Test of Combat. Notable characters here included a member of the HighTop tribe (a race of sauropods), a friendly SharpClaw who introduced the Foodbag mechanic, and a mysterious mole-like creature, internally labeled "DFmole," while also affectionately nicknamed by some within the Dinosaur Planet community as "Capy". Krystal would also obtain a Krazoa artifact in this area, allowing access to new parts of Cape Claw.

Although Discovery Falls was ultimately cut in the transition to Star Fox Adventures, some of its elements survived: the Test of Combat became Fox’s first trial in Moon Mountain Pass, its background music was reused in Cape Claw, and was also remixed in romantic saxophone form as Krystal's theme.
