Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion
1
Attachment Before the release of the game, Disney asked the fans to vote on two versions of the box art, one with the villains (the version that won) and one without.
Platform: Wii

In September 2001, Nintendo quietly bought a minority stake in Tom Quinn's company 'Gyration'. They did this because he had a worldwide patent on gyrometer-based motion control technology, and had researched the field for a number of years. As part of the acquisition, Nintendo was granted licenses to use Quinn's motion control tech, as well as take advantage of his technological know-how.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
1
Attachment Certain elements from the game were mentioned in Gameinformer, but never made it into the finished product of the game. Some of them were reworked and scrapped all together. There were plans for showing the kingdoms of the Underpants Gnomes and Crabpeople, fighting hippies, a sidemission where the new kid has to rescue Cartman's Polly Prissy Pants doll from the ginger kids, and an enemy dragon (that may have been a boss at one point in the game) called The Thing.
Pac-Man
1
The 4 ghosts in Pac-Man all have separate programming on how they chase Pac-Man through the maze. Blinky (red) is the chaser and will chase Pac-Man around the maze as well as speed up depending on how many dots are left on the maze, Pinky (pink) is the ambusher and tries to get ahead of Pac-Man, Inky (blue) is very unpredictable as his path is calculated using Blinky and Pac-Man's location, and Clyde (orange) is the coward and will charge Pac-Man if he's far away but runs when he's close by.
Banjo-Tooie
1
One of the main characters in the game is the military brother of Bottles, Jamjars. This name was actually first used in Banjo-Kazooie during the opening training. As the player is testing out Kazooie's beak barge, Bottles comments that Kazooie is useful for something, to which she retaliates with, "I'm trying this move out on you next, jam jars!" The term comes from slang for large glasses with thick lenses.
Spyro: Year of the Dragon
1
Attachment Entering the code: Up, Up, Left, Left, Right, Right, Down, Down, Square, Circle, Square from the pause menu will cause Spyro's Skateboard to turn into a Squid. According to developer Brian Hastings, there was originally going to be a mini-game in Lost Fleet which involved riding a Squid. However, as the Squid didn't fit very well with the rest of the game, it was transformed into a Skateboard. It was kept in as a cheat for sentimental reasons.
Titanfall
1
Due to a lack of time during Titanfall's development, the cinematic level intros were going to be cut out. But one of the programmers completed the first pass of one of the intro in three days, proving that they could pull it off for every campaign level. Thus saving all of them.

"Titanfall's development was plagued with a lack of resources and time. At a crucial point in the development process the question arose as to whether we had enough time to make significantly different intros to the campaign levels. As the intro cinematic specialist, Airbase was my answer to that question. I literally completed the first pass of the intro in three days, proving that we could pull it off for every campaign level."

The Sega Nomad was based on the semi-portable Sega Mega Jet, a Mega Drive system that was designed specifically for use on Japanese airliners.
Game Dev Tycoon
1
Attachment The game Game Dev Tycoon was actually based off a game called Game Dev Story. The creators thought of it as "the first tycoon game they really enjoyed on iOS." However, from the beginning they wished it was less random and more realistic.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
subdirectory_arrow_right Donkey Kong Plus (Game)
1
The game started out as 'Donkey Kong Plus', a sequel to the Game Boy Donkey Kong with updated graphics and a level editor. This was even shown at E3 in 2002. The game was scrapped, but was recycled with the inclusion of mini Marios. The game was then re-named Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
Donkey Kong 64

Attachment It's possible to access a test room without the use a cheat device. To do this, the player must have all of Snide's HQ blueprints, then bring up any level in the Bonus menu, highlight any of the mini-games, then press and hold B, and quickly press A. If done correctly, the player will be taken into the test room itself. The room has no music, three pedestals, a yellow balloon, and a motionless clone of Donkey Kong. It's not possible to leave the room, as pressing Start does nothing and going off-screen will take that player back to the room.
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos
1
Attachment Early screenshots show that at one stage Croc was planned to ride a snowboard. This never made it into the final game, but the level itself remains in the PC version. The level is unrefined, with simpler textures than those seen in the screenshots, and there is no snowboard.
Platform: PlayStation 4

DualShock 4 controllers include a built-in light indicator to be used alongside the Morpheus VR headset. This means that the Morpheus headset was a key component to the design of the controllers, prior to the headset even being announced.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
1
Attachment The Rookie's likeness was originally modeled after level designer Eric Schatz, but his likeness was reportedly removed because the animators felt his in-game model looked too similar to Gordon Freeman from the Half-Life series.

The original model was only intended to be temporary, as the developers originally planned for the game to include a character creator to let the player determine the appearance of the Rookie. This feature was dropped when they determined that they had to pre-render the game's cinematics.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
1
Attachment Jason Hawes and Adam Berry from the TV Series Ghost Hunters were originally going to be in the video game, but were removed before the game was released.

"The two guys in the elevator after the Stay Puft street stage are two Sony executives. They were originally supposed to be the two guys from Ghost Hunters. We made the heads and everything, but couldn't work out all the legal stuff in time, so we defaulted to the Sony execs that wanted to be in the game." - Jesse Sosa
Skullgirls
1
Attachment The Cathedral stage has pictures of Venus and Aeon seen in the stained glass windows. Both characters have only been seen in Double's ending, and had a chance of being downloadable characters during the game's Indiegogo campaign, but they were not chosen.
Fallout 2
1
Attachment There are three unused perk/reputation statuses in the game.
"Virgin of the Wastes" is a status that has no actual effect on the gameplay. It can naturally be removed after sleeping with any sex-specific characters. The description for it reads "You really need to get out more. Your sexual exploits have been... well, two dimensional." "Alcohol Addiction" is a status that was to be used for when the player ends up building an addiction to alcohol-related items in the game. It has no coding associated with it, just the art and description. "You have a problem with alcohol. Actually, you have many problems with your drinking habits." "Tragic Addition" is another addiction status that would have occurred after using a pack of Tragic Cards, which is a reference to Magic the Gathering. The effect would stop map travel periodically to say "You feel a burning desire to open another box of Tragic cards."
Mega Man X3
1
Attachment A picture on the back of the game's box shows a vertical boss door leading into Blast Hornet's boss fight. This door is actually still present in the game in the space above the boss room, but it's normally inaccessible because of the layout of the level.
The Basement Collection
1
On top of the seven included games (plus the two secret ones), there are four more older games hidden away as raw SWF files in the steamapps/common/basement/moregames folder. These are:

• Clubby The Seal (2004)
• Viviparous Dumpling (2005)
• Carious Welting (2003)
• Carious Welting 2 (2005).

Unlike the other games in the collection, these are unaltered from their original Newgrounds release.
Go! Go! Cosmo Cops!
1
Attachment A Japanese version of the game was planned, but was later cancelled. Despite this, the Japanese script from the cancelled release exists in the European version. It's inaccessible without a ROM patch, as it's not triggered by the DS firmware.
