Attachment There was going to be a peripheral for the Atari 2600 called the "Mindlink" that made it possible to play games with your mind. Atari said the device would allow users to "think" the movement of objects on the screen. The product however simply read electronic impulses in the forehead whenever the user moved their eyebrows, rather than actual brain waves.
Mega Man 3

Keiji Inafune considers this the least polished of the Classic series, as they didn't have that long to work on the game (roughly a year), and many things kept going wrong during development. Inafune told Nintendo Power, "If we had more time to polish it, we could do a lot of things better, make it a better game, but [Capcom] said that we needed to release it."
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

According to the first volume of Metal Gear Saga, Liquid Snake, Spoiler:having faked his own death from the FOXDIE virus, was meant to be the main antagonist of the Tanker Chapter (an aircraft carrier during this part in development). However, this, along with most of the original plot, was scrapped due to tensions rising in the Middle East.

Attachment In the 1990 arcade racing game Rad Mobile, there is an air freshener of Sonic that is hanging from the rear-view mirror. This marks the first time Sonic has ever made an appearance in a video game, which, interestingly enough, predates the release of Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991.
South Park: The Stick of Truth

South Park's creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had written about 850 pages worth of material for the game which included nearly every character and element from the series. They were urged by the developers to cut down the material and possibly release some of it as downloadable content, however the two disagreed on the idea and after also hearing disapproval from fans over it, Parker said "and I agree... fuck that." Any material cut form the game may however be reused for the television series.

Before the US release of the game, gameplay footage appeared in the movie "The Wizard." This served as an advertisement for the game and helped ensure its commercial success.
BMX XXX

BMX XXX was originally to be the third title in the Dave Mirra series, however when Acclaim started to make the game more adult-oriented, Mirra filed a lawsuit against the publisher claiming the title damaged his image and that his likeness and name were still being used with the game promoted as "Dave Mirra BMX XXX" even after he had separated from the project. According to Mirra, the game was supposed to be a mature, tongue-in-cheek game similar to the film "Airplane!".

The project was instead split into two with the second game "Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3" being released for the Game Boy Advance.
Franchise: Sam & Max

Lucasarts originally planned to make a sequel to Sam & Max Hit the Road entitled "Freelance Police". The game would have introduced both Sam and Max to complete 3D gaming animation. Many of the developers wanted to make Freelance police as a series of episodes. Due to creative differences between the developers on the game Lucasarts scrapped the game completely. It also led for Steve Purcell's copyright contract on Sam and Max to expire. The cancellation of Freelance Police led to the creation of the company of Telltale Games, who would later bring back Sam and Max through episodic gaming as well as introducing a new method of storytelling in video games.
Super Mario Bros. 3

id software sent a PC demo of Super Mario Bros. 3 to Nintendo hoping to gain authorization to make an official port. Nintendo was impressed but declined, deciding to stick to their own platforms. The demo was based on a test they named 'Dangerous Dave in "Copyright Infringement"', which was a playable recreation of World 1-1 with Mario's sprite replaced by John Romero's Dangerous Dave character.

Pigma Dengar's surname is a reference to people in Japan with a Kansai dialect. In the Japanese version of Star Fox 64, Pigma speaks with a Kansai dialect. People with the dialect tend to end their sentences with the word 'dengar'.

Attachment In the Pewter City Museum, in the space exhibit on the first floor, is a man who speaks about the date July 20 1969, and that humankind first stepped on the moon. This is an actual reference of the moon landing of the Apollo 11, and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to be the first people to walk on the moon on July 20 1969.

On the song "Wanted: Dead or Alive," If you do well enough to have the audience sing along with your band, they will mess up during the chorus by singing an extra "wanted," even though that happens only once in the song. This derives from how fans of Bon Jovi would do the same thing at Bon Jovi concerts.
