The appearance and behavior of the character Doug is based off of Doug Tabacco, who at the time worked as the IT specialist at Telltale Games. According to data polled by Telltale at the time of release, over 75% of players chose to Spoiler:save Carley over Doug (25%) during a pivotal moment in Season 1, which Telltale determined resulted from Doug (a "dorky dude") having less appeal, character development and interaction with the rest of the protagonists compared to Spoiler:Carley (a "hot reporter with a gun").
