Despite coming out in 1994, the first run of boxes was dated as being released in 1993. The game was planned for a holiday release in 1993, but it ended up coming out in March 25th, 1994.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena was originally designed around arena battles, requiring your team to go from city to city becoming the champion in each of their arenas. During development, they decided to partially shift the focus away from the arena and eventually removed them from the game entirely.
