The North American release of the game was released in partnership with Nabisco to promote packets of LiveSavers' Gummi Savers candy, which replace the traditional jellies seen in other versions of the game. Throughout the later half of 1999, LifeSavers thoroughly advertised Croc 2's release with logos on an estimated 6.5 million packages of Gummi Savers, magazine coupons, and sampling events at electronics stores. LifeSavers also co-marketed the "Croc 2 Down Under" sweepstakes, with the grand prize consisting of a trip for a family of four to Australia, and runner-up prizes including a copy of the game, a PlayStation console, and a copy of the game's strategy guide.
