Attachment The "Yeti" clothing brand is based on the Japanese clothing brand "A Bathing Ape", also known as "Bape". Attachment Loxley, the head of the Thieves' Guild located at the Hub, gets his name from the English tale of Robin Hood, more specifically the Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves film starring Kevin Costner. The name "Loxley" comes from the village and alleged birthplace of Robin Hood, and Loxley's own fake/fading English accent is likely based of Kevin Costner's constantly-disappearing accent in the film.

Attachment Outside of the past Shattrath City (Warlords of Draenor), you can find an orc named "Goh'kuu" hunched over another one named "Napp'agosh" near an orcish pod-like weapon. This is a reference to the characters Goku and Nappa from Dragon Ball Z.
Monster Party

Attachment The game's prototype, entitled "Parody World: Monster Party", vastly differs from the final game graphically. Most notably, the title screen featured blood instead of green slime, and many of the enemies and bosses were originally parodies of copyrighted movie characters or mythological creatures:
• The man-eating plant was originally Audrey II from the 1982 musical "Little Shop of Horrors" and shot quarter notes instead of bubbles.
• The Jack-O-Lantern was originally Caesar from the "Planet of the Apes" film series, and the background of the fight featured the famed image of the destroyed Statue of Liberty from the original 1968 film.
• The gorgon snake was originally a humanoid, most likely Medusa.
• The ghost man was originally a mummy.
• The giant spider was originally the titular antagonist of the 1982 film "The Thing".
• The giant cat-in-a-box was originally a gremlin from the 1984 film "Gremlins".
• The grim reaper was originally an alien robot resembling a Xenomorph from the "Alien" franchise.
• The vampire ghoul bore more of a resemblance to a stereotypical vampire.
• The projectiles released by the eggs in Round 2 were originally Facehuggers from the "Alien" franchise.
• The baseball catcher enemy was originally Jason Voorhees from the "Friday the 13th" franchise.
• The ghosts were originally "jiangshi": Chinese hopping vampires.

These graphical aspects were mainly changed both due to Nintendo of America's stringent censorship policy and the risk of copyright lawsuits, due to the United States' more strict copyright laws compared to Japan.

The cameo battle of this game has the player fight a team of four characters from previous Tales games, including Cless Alvein/Cress Albane and Mint Adenade from Tales of Phantasia and Stahn Aileron and Rutee Katrea from Tales of Destiny. To unlock said cameo battle, the player must fully complete Illusionary Darkness, the game's EX Dungeon and the "Femme Fatale" sidequests that Mint and Rutee host, then go to Xian Du's arena and participate in the Elite Team challenge. After defeating the last opponents in that bracket, the cameo team will immediately appear.

Spoiler:Defeating them allows the player to view an extra ending where Cress and the group offer to help Ludger save Elle from Bisley as well as deal with Chronos and Origin's Trial. Should the player agree to let them handle it, Cress will use his Eternal Sword to transport himself and his group to Canaan where they easily deal with Bisley and Chronos and return Elle to Ludger.

The credits sequence seen in this ending feature messages from the developers thanking the player.

During the events at Warrior's Roost's "Riot Peak" challenge, the player is assisted by a black robed guardian.

Upon completing the Riot Peak Normal class, the player will meet with and be challenged by the guardian, who reveals himself to be Veigue Lungberg, the main character of Tales of Rebirth. Upon defeating him, the player earns the Laevatein sword for Asbel. Veigue will also put in a Request for the player to find a sword named "Requiem" for him.

The player can challenge Veigue again any time they desire after winning or losing to him, although should the player challenge him after winning, they will have to fight him solo with the character they have chosen.

The player can also battle Amber Hearts from Tales of Hearts, and Reala from Tales of Destiny 2, within the bonus dungeon "Zhonecage." When beaten, they give out requests for certain weapons. Once these requests are fulfilled, Amber and Reala can fight alongside Veigue in the final battle of Riot Peak.
